Don't look for Spider-Man

"You're obsessed over that guy, Y/N," Ned laughed.

"Yeah, let go. He's not even so interesting. I bet he just has a very boring life," MJ said, glancing at Peter.

"I agree," Peter replied.

You sighed.

"He's an Avenger, it's impossible for him to have a boring life. Also, he seems pretty nice and polite with people, unlike you guys," you answered, a little frustrated about the whole situation.

Since the day that you met Spider-Man, you've been a fan of his. It may sound stupid, but you developed a crush on him, like he was a movie star or something similar. You just appreciated his cuteness and his kindness, plus he had a got a really good voice. The mask fascinated you a lot and you were basically dying to know who he was. He seemed pretty young, not like the other Avengers. You couldn't stand a chance with him because he was an Avenger, of course, but the thought of him being younger than the others brought you a sort of relief. Maybe you could have met him again one day. Anyway, your friends didn't agree with you. They just thought that you were crazy. The only one who understood you was Flash and it was absolutely delusional.

"Could we just please go to class?" asked Peter. "Y/N?"

You didn't realize that you two had stopped in the hallway, while Ned and MJ were already gone. Maybe Peter had just waited for you. He was really cute, but he wasn't Spider-Man.

"I haven't made fun of you when you said you were a huge fan of Tony Stark. Why are you doing this to me, Peter?" you asked, holding tight the books in your hands. You were scared of his answer.

Peter sighed, looking at you softly.

"I'm not making fun of you, Y/N. I love you, you're one of my best friends and I would support you, no matter what, but I also want to protect you. This is a dangerous game you're playing and I don't want you to get hurt. Don't look for Spider-Man or trouble will follow you," he said, a worried look in his eyes, while his fingertips were caressing your shoulder. He took a step back when he realized what he was doing.

"Maybe I had enough of this ordinary life," you said, fiercely.

"Trust me: when you're an Avenger, you would do everything to have an ordinary life," he replied and then, he went to class.

You would have followed him, but someone brought you in an empty room quickly, taking you by your wrist. You were about to scream, but when you saw Flash, you stopped yourself.

"I'm gonna kill you," you said.

"Not yet. Listen, do you remember when we were looking for Spider-Man's identity? Well, I think I found it," he said, with a smile.

Your heart started beating faster and faster.

"Who is it?"

"Apparently, someone we know very well. I still can't believe it's him, actually," he said, rolling his eyes. "Anyway, think about it: every time the Avengers have an important mission, he's not here. The time you met Spider-Man? He wasn't there with you and you two go everywhere together, basically. He was also at that charity event with May. You know who he is," he explained.

You were trying to elaborate all of the information that Flash gave to you. Your brain was working too fast. But there wasn't a lot to process. You already knew the answer. You were shocked, paralyzed and in disbelief. Why didn't he say anything to you? How could you not understand that before? You had a crush on your best friend.

"Peter."

The last thing you remembered was looking at Flash nodding, before the ceiling crumbled down between you two.
