Okay, I'm assuming you all know what an omega verse is. Alphas betas and omegas. So I'm not going to explain it, figure it out yourself if you don't know.
Alphas- 5% of the population
Betas- 75% of the population
Omegas- 20% of the population
My au twist:
Around the time of student's second year in high school, when they're 16 or just about to turn 16, they all get pregnant!
They don't have to have sex to get pregnant while they are 16, it is simply the miracle of being an omega. This pregnancy is a much faster process than a normal one, the omega takes 3 months to completely develop the child and give birth. Since everyone is different, when the three months begin, the omega is placed in a special class where they are taught maternal needs and how to raise a child.
During this class students come and go, they stay for about 4 months in this class so they can spend about a month with their baby, just until the day care at a school can take care of them.
Now the good stuff
The omega's child is theirs but is also their soulmates. So when the child is born, omegas frequently get glimpses of who their soulmate is, their kid might resemble them a lot.
There is a thing where omegas don't get pregnant and that is when their mate is either:
1) undecided- meaning they have yet to come close enough contact to their soulmate to know at all
2) dead- some people die young, so their soulmate is lonely, though sometimes they still become pregnant
3) there is none- it's rare, but some people just don't have a soulmate, these people often become insane with their lack of someone to love
BETAS: betas usually date amongst themselves, knowing the could easily become an omega's soulmate, they usually just date around until they're marked.
OMEGAS: the only people who know they have a soulmate. Due to them being physically weaker, the need someone to help them, thus the need for a soulmate.
ALPHAS: some don't have soulmates, they're sometimes so rare that they're treated like kings and queens. Due to their high fertility rate, they try and avoid sleeping with many people. Only an alpha can have an alpha kid, so if they want to keep their power, better lay low on the laid omegas.
