The tiled bathroom became wet as a few tears escape Izuku's eyes, the pools welling up on the ground. He looks at his phone once more and has to put it away to not look anymore, he just needed to get through this dinner, just a few more hours until he would be home and in bed again.
He gets up and washes his face in the sink, staring at himself in the small bathroom mirror, gazing into his own jade eyes. His own kid couldn't even hold the same eye color as him, they were purple now. Izuku got a good look at his child, already a strong kid at only age 7, not to mention October was coming and his birthday would be approaching soon. He just wanted to spend time with his mother, why did it have to turn into this?
Izuku walks out of the bathroom and towards the back patio, only to find they had finished eating lunch and were cleaning up the table. Hitoshi and Katsuki were laying on the lawn watching Demako run around the yard trying to find a ball to play with, Izuku would have smiled if it weren't for Demako noticing him walk out and running up to his mother. "Mommy come play with me!" He pulls on Izuku's waist, and though Izuku was bigger, he found himself complying with the little boy's wishes.
As Demako giggles, being chased by Izuku throughout the yard, Katsuki decides to go inside with Hitoshi, the two needed to talk for a bit. "Babe, why does Hisuki keep calling Deku "mommy"?" He looks at his mate, the indigo man freezing slightly. "He doesn't even call you mommy." He states, a small flame of anger rising in his chest.
"I don't know." Hitoshi states, he knows he's been caught, he can't do anything anymore, he's been caught and he can't run or think of a lie.
"Hitoshi, why does Hisuki put eye drops in his eyes every morning?"
"His eyes are dry, they have been since he was born, you know that." Hitoshi had made the lie earlier, he had to still believe it.
"So why were his eyes green this morning? He had skipped putting them in yesterday because they ran out, so this morning I got him more and his eyes were green."
"I don't know why they were green. It was probably your excitement for getting to see Izuku after all this time. I know how much you wanted to fight him again now that you're both pro heroes." Hitoshi needed to escape. If he keeps asking questions he won't be able to answer like this forever, he'll end up wearing him down enough to spill everything.
Katsuki hums, "I don't miss that idiot. So why do I still smell him even though I've marked you and should only smell you?" This was only faintly true, Katsuki could smell the masked scent of Izuku even when Hitoshi and he first marked back in high school. The whole dorm knew they had marked, but Izuku could still smell the alpha, and the alpha could still smell him. Which of course isn't supposed to happen, your soulmate's smell is always strong, but then once you mark someone, you only ever smell the person you mark, and vice versa. Izuku just happened to still smell. Katsuki just assumed it was their prolonged history together and he grew accustomed to his smell always being there and so he just kept smelling it like second nature.
"I don't know." Hitoshi looks down he can't look at his boyfriend's face, he can't dare look at how hurt he will look. But Katsuki wasn't hurt, he just wanted answers.
The alpha reaches and lifts his mate's chin, "are you an omega?" He had been trying for so long to have another child, but they never seemed to come, he couldn't find any birth control or anything, he just didn't have children.
The younger faulters and a tear slips from his eyes. "N-no..." He says slowly, his eyebags quiver as his eyes widen, and try not to look at the alpha's face.
Katsuki rubs under his eye, the pad of his thumb running over his cheek and getting the tear away from his beautiful face. "Shh don't cry, Hitoshi." He holds his insomniac close, the tears not stopping as they flow down his cheeks. Katsuki just gently brushes them aside, then he leans forward and kisses his mate's forehead. "This means you're not my soulmate, so who is?"
