Jennifer POV

Monday...5:48 am...This is something my body is going to have to get used to.

But in all truth, I am willing to take the sacrifice.

I want to put my all into this new job, even if it means waking up with baggy eyes.

...Officer Wilson...

I like it!

I stretched my arms and toddled along off to the bathroom.

In my eyesight I can see my washed uniform flopped on the chair in my bungalow.

It makes me feel so proud and so happy.

I am living my dream, something I thought could never happen.

I am in the car.

My body is finally prepared.

The two week induction, done.

Day 1. Lets do this!

Arriving at work was the same as usual, I parked my car around the back, I gave my keys to Harry the security guard, I walked to the front, and there I was.

The State Police Department.

The bell above the door would go off as I entered like usual, then to see that I have arrived in perfect time.

This was the routine.

Some officers were walking around and there was a strong coffee aroma about the place.

This was it.

This was work.

As a newly signed Officer at San Jose Police Department, I had to wait on the sofa until Marc Adams would call me into his Office at 7. He'd then give me a briefing on who was in that day and what objectives were to be met by the time I leave at 6 in the evening. He was a warm but very stern middle aged man. I felt complete trust in his words and I wanted to make sure I would never let him down.

Period.

"Today Officer Wilson, there is a big, big case going on. As I said before, I want all my objectives to be completed successfully. You get that?"

"Absolutely!"

Shit! I'm starting to feel the pressure.

"I want you to develop more skills as a team. It's important here, really. The case today is vital for San Jose. Its an ongoing case actually, so the importance is evident. You know what?"

He paused and got up out of his chair

"Let me introduce you to one of the PD Leaders here that will take care of you this week. Come! Follow!"

I got up immediately and followed behind him as he took me to the three occupied window offices at the front. Since I walk past the windows every day, it'll be great to release the uncertain tension as to who I am.

*Knock*

"Officer Adams! How can I be of help Sir?"

A strong built guy with dark brown hair opened the door with a great smile upon his face. I noticed he was covered in tattoo sleeves. He looked just like a guy I knew from college. Funny how events resurface.

"Daniel, this is Jennifer Wilson. I want you and the team to take her along with you for the week on this 'Neighbourhood Hobo' investigation."

Did I hear that right? My first task at San Jose Police Department is to find a missing Hobo!?
