Robin POV
This week has been great, I’ve had time to relax my body and get fed by my Nan.
This is the life.
I stopped by work on Friday too, just to let everybody know I seriously was OK.
And I saw something.
Victoria Stem and Jennifer Wilson 'gun trials'.
I flipped the fuck out at Officer Adams. It must have been the hospital drug dosage short term effects kicking in.
I'm not normally plain angry and frustrated. Not like this.
“What do you think you are doing Sir?! After what has just happened, you're letting out our new women to get a...gun license?!”
I looked at him appalled. Since when was this Ok?
“I guess you are suggesting you need more night Officers because I got injured. ONCE! Why would you bring the women into this?! Do you have no respect?”
He could tell I wasn't fully myself but he knew I had a point.
“Listen Peterson, this was planned a while back. This is not anything that should attract your attention. I'm giving them training just for the 'What ifs' you know...I just want them to be prepared.”
Prepared?
“And why would the women need to be prepared?”
“Sir, you're arguments are fully understandable. The SJ Police Department has been notified that crime is on the increase.”
He paused.
“I'm sure you're aware of that.”
I was.
“Headquarters were a little concerned over two California areas, San Jose is one. They don't want to just employ people off the street! We are a TEAM Peterson!” He got up out of his seat and touched his head.
“You know, I'm really proud of all you guys, really. I feel so protective over you all. You have to understand this is what the Chiefs want. So listen.”
The explanation was much more reassuring.
“Night patrol is looking like the future! And I want all my Officers fully equipped and safe. The training is purely based upon the black and white in front of me, you understand that right?”
“I do Sir. I'm Sorry.”
He smiled vaguely.
“I'm glad to see you well and fit Officer Peterson. I'm so sorry for what happened. But this is just evident...These new Officers do need training!”
That comment was a soft blow to the stomach. Wow.
I held back my shock and anger.
“I'll be off now. Better go lie down for another two days.”
Sarcasm. Sarcasm was all I could stretch too.
It's taken me FIVE years to get a fucking small injury.
Five-Fucking-Years.
And he has the guts to make me feel like I was not doing my job properly!
Damn!
Damn you!
Jennifer POV
A new week. A new case, but Officer Johnson, who I never met before, came into the Changing Room just before we were about to head off.
