Chapter 2: Holding Out For A Hero

Sean was walking down the hall to head to the locker room to get ready for gym, as he gets there he hears a familiar voice

???: Did you see that new kid? He couldn't even say his name!

???2: Yeah! He was pretty stupid!!
???3: Matt, Tom, that's kinda messed up. It's literally his FIRST day, why make fun of him now?

Matt: Gosh Luke, why are you such a goody two-shoes?
Tom: Yeah Luke! You need to chill.
Luke: Whatever..

As the three walk away, Sean overhears and sighs.

Sean: First day and I've already got my own bully...
???: Bully? Who's bullying you?
Sean: AHH-

Sean, startled, jumps and falls to the floor as he turns to see Francine staring at him slightly upset

Sean: Oh hey Frenchy, i-it was nothing, just something I overheard!
Francine: Oh yeahhhh, and what was it?
Sean:...nothinnnn.

Francine stares at him blankly

Sean: Fine, it was that guy... uh.. Something Thomas...
Francine: Matt?
Sean: Yeah, him... he was talking shit about me with one of his friends..
Francine: Tom... *sigh* I'm so sorry, it'll be alright though! Their IQ combined is 2.5.

Sean and Francine laugh as Sean looks at the time

Sean: FUCK! I gotta go! Talk to you later Frenchy.
Francine: See ya Sean...

Francine watcher him leave as she starts to blush but quickly shakes it away

Sean finally made it to gym class which was outside today as they were doing laps. He didn't know where to start as he wandered in the middle of the dirt field inside some white lines.

???: HEY! Get out of the way!
???2: Annie Watch out!
Sean: Huh? *Notices two people coming* Oh shi-

Sean finally notices two girls running towards him as they crash from running full speed. They hit the ground and Sean quickly gets up extending his hands.

Sean: I am SO sorry, Let me help you up!
???2: No! Get out of here you... um.. UGH!
???: Wait, Kyli! That's the new kid, uh... Sean right? *He nods*
Kyli: He's also an idiot who needs to look where he's going! Come on Annie!
Annie: Okay! *Looks at Sean* Don't get discouraged, she's in a bad mood *Whispers* her boyfriend cheated on her.
Kyli: ANNIE!! LET'S GO!!

Annie smiles at Sean before running off with Kyli, shaking his head Sean just walks off to head to a safe space he knew the school had... the Music Room. As he walked through the dull halls, he could hear vibrant music, played on the piano... he rushed to see what it was as he saw a girl with cyan hair playing a song. He opened the door to hear better while entering in.

Sean closed the door after walking in, which caused the girl perked up and looked at him blushing

???: H-how long have you been standing there?
Sean: Well right her for a few seconds, but I heard the whole song outside the door.
???:...Are you trying to be a smartass?
Sean: Well yes but actually no. *he chuckles* Anyways, you have an amazing voice!
???: *Blushing* Y-you really think so?
Sean: I know so *Smiles* What's your name by the way?

The girl smirks with a wicked idea in her head

???: I'll tell you my name if you sing for me...
Sean:...Okay! I'll do it!
???:*Shocked* Wait wha-

Sean got up and went to grab a guitar on the wall, his eyes laid on a slick black acoustic where he tuned it and started to strum a familiar tune.

After Sean finished he saw the cyan haired girl with tears in her eyes

Sean: *Nervously* D-did I do something wrong?
???: No, it's just... my mom used to play that song.. Before she passed.
Sean: Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to I swe-
???: *Getting up* Don't worry about it. You didn't know.

The girl walked toward the door before turning back to Sean, blushing.

???:Name's Reese, Reese Cain.Sean: Nice to meet you Reese! I'm Sean.Reese: Well Sean, I'll see you around.Sean: Yeah... I hope so.With that, the girl left Sean by himself with his thoughts. He sat back in a chair thinking about his first day of school.Sean: 'First day and I already met 5 people.' *sighs* If only they knew...
