(Transferred from AO3)
I'm honestly so thankful for all the reviews and support that has been left. It might seem silly but every singly comment I'd receive I'd want to post another chapter immediately after reading it. That's why I'd often post 2/3 chapters a week – I couldn't help myself! It's lovely to know that people enjoy some silly fanfiction you wanted to write for your own entertainment. I also never ever thought it would be this long. I thought when starting this it would be 15 chapters max? Lol, oh well.
Now, feel free to leave any questions or thoughts in the comments – I'm more than happy to answer them!
And most importantly....Thank you so much for reading <3 !
A separate ramble on the characters:
I received one comment about Law and Leila's adult relationship and I had a lot I wanted to touch upon after reading it! I find it kind of difficult to read fanfiction with really childish or young acting OC's so I wanted to make Leila realistic. Meaning, she has her own flaws and strengths. I actually ended up incorporating a lot of my own traits into her accidentally, so it's kind of surreal realizing it now.
For example, she's a bit of a crybaby and some days she feels stronger than others. She definitely has childish qualities, but they don't determine her whole personality. Her being more emotional doesn't take away from the fact that she's very independent and prefers honesty above all else!
I don't think she would have coped for so long if she was dependent on others. However, this also doesn't mean that she is incapable of relying upon others. As you have read, she learns to give up a bit of control over her life and lean on Law more as the story progresses. She learns she can't control or fix everything by herself.
I also feel like I took a different stance on Law than what I had first intended. I like Law being this dominant, suave guy (which he is) but whilst writing I'd often remember his few blushing scenes where he'd get all awkward and cute. I liked to think that although he was this cool guy, Leila somehow always found a way underneath his skin and found his secret sweet spots. Although he still held this dominating doctoral aura, of course, I don't think he ever expected to act like such a softie with her either.
In conclusion, I wanted to make Leila seem human and I wanted their relationship to seem realistic! Her and Law are both functioning adults with problems but they are fully capable of communication - although who doesn't like a misunderstanding trope now and again?! ;)
All in all, I just love them and had a blast writing <3
