(Credits to NinaStone on ao3 check her/him/they out^^)To think that Venti was actually the Anemo Archon was still hard to take in for Lumine. She found herself stuck in this
contemplation on the night of the party they threw for Jean after she recovered from her overwork illness. Lumine already took the time to greet and hang out with everyone, even Jean heading out that left her to be the one to take care of a certain alcoholic bard. He was not a Knight after all, so the fact he wandered into this party too was by pure chance. In a way, Lumine felt obligated to at least make sure he made it out of there in one piece. She sighed when he managed to joyfully finish off another bottle with a colorful poem to accompany the fine taste of the wine. The look Diluc cast after witnessing this told her that it was probably time to get this bard out of here before he started counting up the tab. She had not even touched more than a glass herself as she chose to indulge in some of the food she made and conversation with the others instead.
"Need help?" Kaeya offered, his sudden appearance causing Lumine to startle as he gave a simple greeting gesture when she tried to settle her nerves. She had forgotten he was even still there with how he had been sitting at one of the tables by himself enjoying the free wine as well. His attention soon went towards the singing bard whose song somehow had turned to a ballad about Lisa's... impressive bookshelf . Lumine shook her head, so glad the Librarian was not present to hear the raunchy words. Kaeya himself gave a short chuckle to overhearing it, personally wanting to let the bard continue. Diluc's glaring at the rowdy patron though moved Lumine to action, not wanting Venti to end up deep-fried on top of being kicked out.
"V-Venti," Lumine said quietly, tapping at the bard's shoulder to get his attention as she was not quite sure if he was drunk or not. He did seem much more chipper though as he gazed towards her and began to smile like a fool. Yeah, he was drunk.
" Ah , my most trusted devotee! Have you finally come to profess your allegiance to me?" Venti announced far too loudly that had Lumine tense up. She thought he was supposed to be keeping the Archon talk under wraps! Neither Kaeya nor Diluc seemed too put off by overhearing the strange statement, but the Cavalry Captain did let out another snicker. Although, with their shady information practices, she assumed their lack of reaction was them already knowing Venti was the Anemo Archon.
"No, you-- we n-need to go," she said quickly, embarrassment tinting her cheeks that caused Venti to stare at her, blinking slowly. He then burst out laughing, slipping from his seat to hook an arm across her shoulders as he seemed still quite sober in how he kept his balance. She was not sure if she should be impressed or very worried after all the alcohol he had consumed.
"Ehh, but we just got started! Not every day I can indulge in Mond's finest wines! Surely you would not pry me from this absence of fines?" Venti huffed, trying to urge Lumine back to the bar, but she dug her heels into the floor to halt him. He removed his arm to stare at her in exaggerated confusion. Just before she was about to explain, they both turned to a loud throat clear from behind the bar.
"We're closing. If you wish to continue to partake then you may pay for all that you have consumed, bard," Diluc scowled in a monotone, the very air of the bar growing warmer with his words. Kaeya let out a whistle upon hearing this that only seemed to make the heat spike higher when Diluc cast a glare towards him, too. He raised his hands innocently and turned to begin heading out to avoid the wrath of the winery owner.
"C'mon, Lumine, grab your friend, and let's go before my bro gets too heated ," Kaeya quipped with a chuckle to his own pun. Diluc let out a slow breath of restrained frustration, ignoring Kaeya's words as he soon softened his gaze towards Lumine. She looked up at him with a sorry on her lips as he gave a nod towards Venti to turn her attention back at him. The bard was in the process of trying to grab for one of the unfinished bottles on the counter as she scrambled to stop him.
