Chapter 2

Liam had only been back a day and all three of as had become slightly agitated with our mothers behaviour. She had hardly left him alone yet, we'd barely had a proper conversation. Eventually we snook off down the bottom of the garden and hid ourselves in the shed that we'd converted into a den years ago. 

"Bloody hell she just doesn't stop, does she?" Liam voiced as well all sat ourselves down in our old, worn out bean bags forming a circle like shape in them.

"You haven't had to live with her mate, she's driving me mental. She's constantly on my back about doing something productive, it's driving me mental." Josh huffed and slouched even further down into his bean bag. They love each other dearly, but they don't get along all that we when they're around each other 24/7.

"I think she's just a bit lost at the moment. She hasn't really got anyone else, we're all she has left right now and her being so protective is like her own little way of making sure she's not completely on her own." I remind the two boys sitting in front of me.

"I know that 'Lil but there's only so much I can take" Josh moans once again.

"Oh stop being so dramatic, you inner drama queen is starting to really piss me off" I reply, throwing an abandoned cushion at his face.

After five minutes of arguing about the topic, Liam changes the subject. We discuss the tour and how the boys are doing, the places he visited and the people he met, the new album and the plan for the couple of months. Liam was only planning on staying for a week or two, having to get back to deal with some business and to continue recording for the next album. This really didn't sit well with mum and she was having a hard time dealing with the fact he'd only just come back but would be leaving again in a couple of days.

"So, I have a proposition for you two." Liam mutters as he sits forward slightly in his seat. He looks apprehensive which is unusual for him, especially when he's talking to use. We've always been one of those families that basically tells each other anything. We don't shy away from any topic and I think that's what makes us all so close.

"Oh yeah, care to enlighten us?" Josh chuckles as he copies Liam's body language.

"So the boys and I have been talking, we're going back on tour in 6 months, after we've released the new album and done the promo work for it..." He looks down at the ground nervously.

"None of this is new information Liam" I inject, not quite sure where this conversation is headed.

"I'm aware of that, you didn't let me finish" he frowns as a mutter a quick apology. He gives us a sidewards glance before continuing. "Anyway, we need a new opening act, we've talked it through with management and they've all agreed that having you coming on tour with us would be a good idea. So, what do you think about being our new opening act?"

Josh and I stare at Liam for a few moments, not even daring to move. Slowly trying to comprehend what Liam had just said I pick my gaze up from where it was settled at the ground and made eye contact with him.

"What?" I ask slowly, my voice low and unsure.

"I want to guys to be our opening act on tour. I know it's something you'll need to consider but this is a good thing right? I mean, it's a great opportunity for you and your career, it could really help boost you." Liam speaks in a persuasive manner.

"Liam, bro, I don't know if that's such a good idea..." Josh says bewildered. I think we're both a bit shocked right now, neither of us were expecting this.

"Yeah, Liam, I'm not sure. We've always said that we didn't want to piggyback off your career and isn't that exactly what we'd be doing. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but isn't that what everyone else is going to think too? We don't want everyone to think that we're talentless fame seekers. We want to do this on our own merit." I say, suddenly feeling so guilty for not snapping up this opportunity straight away. If it was anyone else asking this question then we would have jumped on the offer but this is a completely different situation.
