Kenji looked up onto the starry night sky that shrouded the surface of the planet Owari. His grandfather sat next to him and stroked his white beard. They both sat on the grassy plains which were up to their chests in height.
Kenji's grandfather looked at Kenji and spoke softly, "Kenji?"
Kenji broke eye contact with the starry sky to look at his grandfather, "Yes pop-pop? Are you going to tell me another one of your stories?"
"No, but I do have a question. Do you have a dream?" His grandfather asked.
"What's a dream?" Kenji asked.
His grandfather cleared his throat, "Well what I am talking about isn't the type of dream you have whilst sleeping, no. I am talking about it is like a goal you want to accomplish."
Kenji thought to himself for a moment, scratching his messy black hair which partially covered his ears, "No I don't think I have one, do you pop-pop?"
He laughed a deep laugh, "Yes I do, but don't laugh at me, okay?"
Kenji nodded his head.
"Well, my dream was, and still is, to find the Father of Dragons."Kenji's faced glowed with curiosity and excitement, "What are dragons? They sound awesome!" he said, smiling.
His grandfather smiled along with Kenji, "Well you see Kenji, dragons are space creatures that live on other planets and soar throughout the cosmos. It's said that if a certain person absorbs the soul of one of the dragons, they shall acquire the abilities that correlate with the said dragon."
"Am I one of those special people?" Kenji asked his grandfather.
Kenji's grandfather sighed, "To be perfectly honest I don't know, but I am sure you and the people you meet will probably be those special people. Since you have a kind heart you can make all sorts of friends, unlike your grandfather."
"Why do you say that?"
"That's a story for another night, it's getting late so let us go to sleep?" Asked Kenji's grandfather.
Kenji grabbed his grandfather's hand and they walked out of the large field of grass and onto the paved roads of Owari. Off on the horizon was the bright city of Crest Fall, the home for all types of people. Even though it wasn't an actual city, more like a large village, everyone there lived peacefully and wasn't bothered by the Cosmic Federation or space pirates.
As they made their way to the city they were stopped by some old friends of Kenji's grandfather, another man about his age, and a female Kenji's age. They wore typical Owari silk kimonos that had their family crests written on the back, but Kenji had never seen these people before.
"Hello, Shiki nice to meet you again." Kenji's grandfather stroked his beard.
Shiki smirked, "Well, it's also nice to see you too Natsu." Shiki shook Natsu's hand.
"Who's the little girl beside you? Hey there!" Kenji's grandfather said, implying the girl who came with Shiki.
"Oh, that's my granddaughter Haru. And who's the young one beside you?" Shiki asked.
"I am Kenji Yamamoto! And I want to achieve my and my grandfather's dream of finding the King of the Dragons!" Kenji announced.
Shiki started to laugh loudly, "You know, I like this kid! He reminds me of you a little, shouting out your dreams of finding the King of Dragons, though you never found them."
"I gave up on that life a long time ago, a worthy sacrifice in order to create this beautiful family I have with me." Kenji's grandfather said.
"Well, sorry to cut this short but we really have to go. And you Kenji!"
