"Whats that?" Ron asked as Evie walked into the hospital wing later that day, a sort of crystal in her hand, "Do I need to eat that?"
"No, you fool." she said back in disbelief, laying in alongside his bed, "It's an Amber, it will absorb your pain."
Ron glanced at it then gave her a smile, "Thanks, E."
Evie patted his red hair as Harry came to her side, taking her hand with a knowing look. She frowned her eyebrows in return, feeling him tug her slightly as Evie followed close behind.
"Merlin, what were you thinking!" Evie hollered at Harry after the Potter boy came to her a few days later, his head tucked, "You could have killed him!"
"Snape saved him, Evie." Harry tried to reason, knowing he probably wasn't doing so well.
"Oh, how lovely." Evie said sarcastically as she threw her book onto her bed, "Its one thing to fight, but to throw that hex? One you knew does horrible damage? I'm so disappointed in you."
"I'm sorry." Harry said as he rose to his feet, "Malfoy knows something! And i'm betting you do too."
Evie hesitated, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I think you do." the Potter boy snapped at her, "What happened to always being honest with each other? Or does that not apply to both of us?"
"Oh, loose your attitude this instant." she snapped at him with a harsh glare, "Its not any of your concern!"
"You are my concern!" Harry said back to her in disbelief, "Whatever is happening, I can help you. I want to protect you, Evie. I love you."
Evie went silent as she stared at him for a moment, looking down and shaking her head, "You can't, why haven't you gotten that through your head?"
"E-" he began as she headed to leave.
"Ambrose was right, all i'm doing is putting you in danger." she shook her head with a small cry, "I have to prepare."
"Prepare? Evie! Evie!" Harry hollered as he followed after her into the hallway, her feet fast, "Wait!"
Evie turned around quickly and grasped him by the shoulders, "My father, he's here, Harry. You don't understand."
"Evie, please. You have to help me." Harry begged as he stared at her, grasping her shoulders, "Talk to me, at least tell me what's going on."
Evie opened her mouth to say something before closing it again. He watched her with confused eyes, his blue ones looking down as she slowly rolled up her sleeve to show him.
The Dark Mark.
Harry took a step back, blinking in disbelief. It had to be a dream, it had to be. There was no way, Astrology loving, Evie Adderly could be a death eater. Harry looked at his girlfriend, "How?"
"I had to." she said, voice breaking horribly, "I had to Harry. It wasn't my choice, please, you have to know-"
Harry hugged her tightly as the loud lightening heard from outside. Evie cried as she shook in his arms, "Ambrose- they were gonna kill him if I didn't!"
Harry shhed her as he kept his hand on the back of her head, "It's going to be okay, Evie, I promise."
His voice broke because he knew there was no way.
"They're coming for me, Harry. He knows i'm here and if I don't go he'll kill Ambrose and then me." Evie said as she pulled away, Harry's grip tightened around her, "All i've done all year is put you and my brother in danger because I was too selfish to leave, i'm so sorry."
"Dumbledore will know what to do, Evie. Please-" Harry began before the loud thunder echoed in the air again. The dark mark appeared in the sky as Evie saw two flashes of the familiar black smoke go through the air. Evie looked at Harry with a sad look, seeing he start to cry, "Please, you can't leave me."
"I have to." she said, holding his face, "I'll be okay, i'll be okay because I know you'll figure this out. Go to Dumbledore, the horcrux, you have to find them."
"We can hide you, Evie, we can-" Harry began before she planted her lips into his with a minor sob before pulling away.
"I love you, Harry Potter." she said, tears rolling down her face as she gave him a sad smile, "You have to know i'm doing this to protect you."
Before he could say anything, the lightening struck the air. The hallway darkened for a moment as he felt his hands become empty, her shoulders misting away in his arms. The thunder stopped, the hallway lighting up again.
Evie Adderly was no where to be seen.
"Evie!" Harry yelled out, his cries being heard all through out Ravenclaw, "Evie!"
Harry sobbed as he began sprinting toward Dumbledore, saving his girlfriend the only thought in his head.
