There was a bunch of other stuff about tours and shit, but who gives a damn about that when you have to call everyone you know of to share this marvelous email. The first person who came to my mind was my best friend and only human friend (more like alien), since she got accepted last year. We both applied, but only she got in while I was put on the waiting list. I was gonna call my mom, but I wanted to share the news with her when she got home so I could make her happy after a long day of job seeking.

ring ding dong ring ding dong PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE YOU BITC-

"Hello?"

"I GOT ACCEPTED TO YG!!!"

I sent her the screenshot and said,

"told you im not playin"

For the next 25 seconds, there was an odd silence throughout the call until I broke it.

"yo seunghee u still there?"

I was about to hang up until I heard her SCREECHING

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKK"

"WUT HAPPENED?!"

"U GOT ACCEPTED TO YG"

*mumbles* this dumbass i just told you that

"SO YOU'RE TRANSFERRING TO YG? FOR REAL?!"

Now

"YES BITCH FOR REAL. WUT U THINK I'M TRANSFERRING TO YOUR SCHOOL FOR FAKE OR SMTG", I replied, screaming back to my best friend over the phone with the dumbest look on my face.

"OMG YESSS FINALLYYYYY I CANT WAIT"

"IKR"

"Wait when are you coming to take the tour?"

"I took the tour last year plus i have so many photos you sent me about the school so i dont think im gunna take the tour"

"oh ok then are u coming on the first day of school?"

"yeah im coming on august 25th"

"ok see u then i gtg make jisung some dinner"

END OF CALL

It was currently 8:34 PM so I went out of my room to the kitchen to boil some water for ramyeon for me, my mom, and my younger brother, kim minjoon. He was currently taking a shower and my mom wasn't home yet, but I thought it would be better to make it now and fast so I don't have to later.  She should be home by now though, she's been out all day...

The water had just started boiling when the doorbell rang. I turned the heat down a little and looked through the peephole. Seeing my mom looking exhausted, I immediately opened the door.

I hugged her small, worn-out figure and said,

"Oh my god Mom, why were you out for so long if you were this tired?"

"I was looking for some jobs in the neighborhood, but I couldn't find any."

"Mom, I told you there are websites where you can look for jobs online!"

"Yeah, but they could be scammers, you never know," she said while taking off her shoes. I sighed at her stubbornness and followed her to the kitchen. After she washed her hands, I said,

"Mom, sit down I have something to tell you." I led her to the dining room and we sat across each other.

"What happened?"

I looked down, then back up again, let out a little squeal and yelled, "I GOT INTO YG UNIVERSITYYYYYY!!!"

"OMG REALLY?"

"YESSS!!"

She stood up from her seat and walked towards me. I stood up as well and we hugged each other while jumping up and down. After a few seconds, my mom broke the hug and cupped my face. She started kissing me all over my face and was saying some prayer in her mother tongue. Then she said,

"Minyoung-ah, god just blessed you and our whole family so do good at your new school okay?"

"Okay, mom. Also, guess what?"

"Why, what happened?"

"I also got a full grant and scholarship, so now you don't have to use your money on my school needs"

She hugged me again and starting tearing up. "I really like the sound of that," she said and we both started laughing.

"Oioioiii why are you being so lou- oh hi mom," my little brother said as he came into the room with his oversized shark robe. My mom walked over to him and they hugged until Minjoon said,

"Do you guys smell something burning?"
