KANG RESIDENCE
MORNING

✧──────✦ "sumin!" i'm leaving since you won't get up!" she waited at the door for a few seconds before shutting it behind her. her sister would soon realize that yesterday was her last day of suspension and she was now obligated to attend school again.

her phone went off and the specific ringtone informed her that it was her father. "hello?"

"get up, if you skip again i'll kick you to the streets." her father was never much of a charmer, and she knew he stuck to his promises. get up? get up for what? sumin reached for her phone and looked at the date. the 14th.

the 14th? she sprung out of bed to find her uniform. at the very bottom sat a very wrinkled skirt and collared button up. of course she had forgotten to iron her clothes, that was already an hour's worth of detention and she hadn't even left the house yet.

after getting ready in the bathroom, she grabbed a hoodie off of the hanger and pulled it on to cover the shirt. the skirt was already a lost cause, so she called it a day and hoped for the best. her feet had run out of the house before the clock could count ten minutes.

checking her phone, she saw she had about ten minutes to spare, so she slowed her sprint to a fast walk and headed to the nearest convenience store. sumin only had one more piece of her favorite chewing gum left and she didn't think she could stay sane the entire day without it.

racks on racks had different flavors of gum, but none had the brand she was looking for, let alone any other flavors that she liked. while walking towards the gates in defeat, sumin pulled the last piece of gum from her pocket and stared at it like it would multiply. she popped it in her mouth and neared the gates.

✧──────✦ jugyeong stood in front of the boy doing the morning announcements. "good morning saebom high!" she tapped her foot and stared at her phone until he gave her the set of notes back. her mind told her to be patient while it also screamed "bored!"

sumin heard the morning announcements come on, so she knew that class would be starting soon. not wanting to hear the boys voice anymore, she put in her earphones and shuffled her favorite playlist.

all of a sudden jugyeong's phone went off and rang through the entire school. death metal was not the impression she wanted to give off to her classmates. she fumbled with her phone and dropped it as it vibrated and slid around on the ground.

sumin walked with her bag over her shoulder, one hand in a pocket, the other in front of her face. that hangnail she ripped off the other day was extremely painful, and that nail really needed to be clipped.

the class watched her walk through the halls, completely oblivious to the bass boosted music playing through the speakers. some were happy she was back, others not so much.

seojun's friends who were waiting outside of the bathroom saw her walk towards the classroom and nearly screamed from excitement. they ditched seojun and ran towards her.

from sumin's perspective, all she could see was the bubble she'd just blown up in front of her face. but she could have sworn she heard yelling though. her teeth bit down into the bubble and caused it to make a popping noise that sounded through the halls, even over the metal music playing.

everyone around her looked at her like she was crazy. just then, the intercom turned off. sumin took out one of her earphones, "what happened?"

the chorus of yells from people behind her caused her to turn her head to the noise. in slow motion, she saw seojun's group of friends running up to her in some crazy formation. her eyes widened as the one in front tripped, causing the others to trip on him, all now lying in a pile on the ground.

of course she was happy to see them, but this was a little over the top. "guys, get up." sumin helped pull a few up from the ground with a laugh and chorong engulfed her in a bear hug. "did you really miss me that much?"

"it's been a whole month, we couldn't stand it!" they all whined to her. she wondered how the entire school thought they were gangsters and delinquents when they acted like this in plain sight.

"couldn't stand what?" a deep voice called out from behind chorong. he immediately dropped his arms in fear of being scolded by seojun. chorong turned around and sumin hid behind him, wanting to surprise him. she had completely forgotten to tell him that her suspension ended a few weeks early due to her father's complaining, so she may as well just surprise him now.

seojun walked around chorong to see who he was hiding, but sumin revolved around him to avoid being seen. eventually, her shoes gave her position away and seojun stood still with a blank face while he looked at her. "why are you here?"

she definitely wasn't expecting that tone, "my suspension ended early. what's up your ass today?" he walked right past her and into the classroom. sumin turned towards the group of boys, "did something happen while i was gone?"

none of them answered her until a smaller boy in the back spoke up. "i think i remember him mumbling about how someone wasn't texting him back." a few more voices agreed with him, and suddenly sumin solved the problem.

"did no one tell him that i got my phone taken away?" she looked at the boys and they averted their gaze. so seojun was probably just being petty about her accidentally ignoring him. sumin walked into the class and headed to sujin's desk.

jugyeong watched as a girl she'd never seen before walk into the classroom. was this entire school filled with gods and goddesses?! "did you not tell anyone that i had my phone taken?" the tone quite frankly scared her a little bit.

"that my dear sister, was payback for ruining that certificate." sujin now wore a smirk as she sat back in her chair.

"touché, but i didn't mean to! it looked like a scam! who would just leave that lying around?" sumin defended. now noticing the girls sitting around her, she calmed down a little.

"sister?" jugyeong let the words slide out of her mouth before she could stop them. the pretty girl slowly turned her gaze over to her.

not meaning it to sound rude, sumin asked her straight up, "who are you?" that ended up giving her a slap on the arm from sujin. "not in a rude way though, just curious since i've never seen you before."

"oh, i just transferred here a few weeks ago, lim jugyeong." she felt like she was going to cry if a few more words were exchanged.

"nice to meet you then, i'm kang sumin, this moron's twin. luckily i got the better genes." the girl she now knew was sumin, let her lips curl up into a smile. now she wasn't just scary, but terrifying. jugyeong really needed to toughen up, all she did was smile.

"we have the same dna you idiot."

sumin put her finger to her chin and tapped a few times while she purses her lips, "then why am i hotter? riddle me that, math nerd."

"we're fraternal, stupid." jugyeong just watched as the two bickered, it reminded her of her and juyoung. that thought nearly gave her goosebumps.

the bell rang before they got into a heated argument, and sumin turned to sit in her seat before their home room teacher came back in. she'd just have to deal with seojun at lunch.
