"and be patient over what befalls you."
Qur'an 31:17

Saba was awfully silent that day. Which was odd. Daneen was not good with emotional talks and stuff. She has zero knowledge of how to console people, for nobody consoled her nor did she let anyone console her. Asfandyar was a different case though.
Daneen has always been a pro at masking her emotions and not let the things happening at her home affect her in the outside world. But seeing her best friend sad and not talk rubbish made her worried.
"Are you okay?" She finally asked when Saba was playing with her food instead of eating it. She never does that. It was definitely something so serious otherwise Saba never ignores the food.
"Yes." Came her uninterested reply which made Daneen frown.
"Saba? You're not acting like yourself. Is everything okay?" She asked her again and this time noticed her friend's face changing colours. She became red with anger.
"Ohmigod, Daneen. Will you please shut up. I told you I'm fine. Why can't you leave it at that? Don't be so pushy." Saba snapped at her rudely taking Daneen off guard. She opened her mouth to speak something but words fell short. Never did she imagine that one such day would come where Saba would also be like this. So distant and cold.
"It's because of you. Had you not got yourself locked that day in the stupid library, then this wouldn't have happened. It's all because of you. Azlaan's Ammi found out about us and she stopped him from seeing me. Are you happy now?"
"Wait. What are you talking about? It doesn't make any sense..." Daneen was clueless about what was happening but people around them were so enjoying their arguments, as it was happening for the very first time. Otherwise, Saba and Daneen are like soul sisters. They don't fight.
"We helped you but ended up getting in more trouble. I don't want to talk to you right now. I should have just stayed at home, this wouldn't have happened." Saba got up from her chair and left the place hurriedly while Daneen was still trying to understand what the hell did she mean by that.
Students passed amused glances and a few giggled. There was a pin drop silence as Daneen got up from her chair and eyed them all furiously. She has this powerful intimidating aura that scares people like crazy. They all went mute seeing the anger in her eyes.
Without another word, Daneen also left the canteen and the food remained untouched once again.
As she was walking in a hurry, she didn't see who was in front of her and had bumped into someone who fell down with force.Oh God, not her. She groaned at the person, who stood up irritatedly.
"Are you blind? Where're your eyes at?" Kinza yelled at Daneen, who was clenching her fist in fury. She still had no idea what was that girl's problem.
"Babe... It's okay. Accidents happen." Daneen narrowed her eyes at the new person, who she observed only just now. He looked like some creep as he checked her out from top to bottom. She clutched her navy blue chudidhar tightly and cringed at kinza's choice of boys. Unable to stand under his pathetic gaze, Daneen walked out of there in an even worse mood.
Was today let's piss off Daneen day? She wondered with a frown whilst sitting in her next class which had no students. Everyone else was busy roaming on the corridors as it was the lunch hour and she was sulking here. It drove her insane.
That's why you shouldn't make friends. Her mind spoke unwantedly.
She must be stressed. Her heart argued, making her more annoyed.
