The last four years had been...interesting. Three years after I had given birth to Isabella, I gave birth to her brother Jack. I had found it odd that I hadn't gotten pregnant before then, but I was just grateful for my two babies. With Jack's arrival, our lives became beautifully chaotic.
However, we were dealing with some unhelpful chaos in regards to Thomas' job situation. The servants found out that Lord Grantham wanted to lay off staff. It was confirmed that Thomas' position was considered the least necessary so we were both preparing for the worst.

I raced around trying to find Bella's shoes. I knew that if we didn't move fast enough, she would be late for school.
Thomas: Kimmy where's Jack's diapers? I can't seem to find them.
Kimberly: Would you please just look yourself? I'm trying to find Bella's shoes.
I finally found her shoes in my closet and went into the kitchen. Bella, Jack and Thomas were sitting around the table having breakfast.
    Bella: Good morning mummy.
Kimberly: Good morning darling. Hurry and finish your breakfast. You're going to be late.
There was a knock on the door.
Thomas: Oh no that must be the Bates'. Come on darling let's get your jacket on.
He helped Bella with her coat while I took Jack and put him in his pram. We went outside and greeted Bates and Anna. Anna was 5 months pregnant. Her and Bates walked with us when we dropped off Bella at school and then we would proceed to the Abbey. I left Jack in the nursery during the day and Thomas and I would take breaks with him as often as we could.
We arrived at the Abbey and Thomas took Jack to the nursery while I went upstairs to tend to Lady Edith. I also helped Anna take care of Lady Mary since Anna's pregnancy was considered high risk like mine.
After lunch that day, Thomas had another interview at an estate close to Downton. He had been to 5 interviews so far but none of them were right. They were either asking to much of him or the estate was at the point of failure. I walked him out to the courtyard to wish him luck.
Kimberly: Good luck. You'll do great.
Thomas: Youve said that every time and look how that turned out.
Kimberly: But it wasn't your fault. Always remember that.
We kissed and he went to the interview. I went upstairs and played with Jack in the nursery. Thomas and I had gotten close to Miss Sybbie, Master George and Miss Marigold. Bella loved playing with the girls and Master George loved to entertain Jack with his toy trains.
When I went back downstairs I saw Thomas sitting in the servants hall reading the newspaper.
Kimberly: Well that went by fast.
Thomas: Not if you were there.
I knew he was making a joke but I could tell he was disappointed.
Kimberly: I'm sorry. Jack is aching to see you. You should go upstairs and play with him.
As we were talking, Bella walked through the door with Miss Sybbie, Master George and their nanny. Miss Sybbie was in the first grade while Master George and Bella were in kindergarten. Bella ran up to me and I picked her up.
   Kimberly: How was school?
    Bella: Good.
    Thomas: Come here darling.
Thomas took her out of my arms and kissed her.
Thomas: Would you like to go upstairs and play?
    Bella: Yes daddy.
    He brought her upstairs.
That night Thomas and I put the children to bed and sat down to dinner at our cottage.
Kimberly: Thomas, have you ever thought of doing something other than being in service?
    Thomas: What do you mean?
Kimberly: Well if all of those others jobs aren't going to satisfy you, maybe service isn't your true path. What other passions do you have?
He paused and thought for a moment.
Thomas: I haven't really thought about it. I never thought my life would amount to anything other than service.
Kimberly: Than we shall have to find you something you can put your mind to.
