Julian Seyey grew up during what he lovingly referred to as the Heyday of Rock and Roll. He was born in the mid sixties. He was tall, dark and handsome in every sense, with deep sea green eyes and unkempt, wavy black hair. He was raised with a love of music that began with his parents, who passed in a tragic car accident, sending Julian and his three older siblings to Iowa to live with their grandparents. Grammy and Pops happily continued his musical education, adding to his already eclectic tastes with their take on what was good and what wasn't. His one true love being all things rock & roll.
Julian spent his youth, beginning about the age of 12 or 13, and all of the money he earned working odd jobs, following his favorite band around the country and then the world, the older he got. Pops was a bit liberal with him, being he was the youngest. He literally documented, enshrined in photo albums, the bands every move, word, musical note, and fashion choice. He was a groupie in every way, except the most obvious. Thank God he never tried to sleep with any of the band members. That happened to be a constant joke at all family gatherings later in life. Music, concerts and everything Motley Crue was his life. He admired every member, but obsessed over the bassist and the drummer. Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee were who he wanted to be like. He even changed his appearance to emulate their style. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all. He grew out his hair, dressed in leather, combat boots and ratty concert t-shirts. Nothing else mattered, except making enough money to fund his musical obsession.
He taught himself to play guitar, bass and drums, between concerts and his travels, becoming quite an accomplished musician. He would jam with all manner of friends or strangers in his Grandfather's shed, slowly transforming it into a makeshift studio. He always picked up various and sundry trappings of the musical sort on his trips and dragged them home to Iowa to play with. He was known around town as the Bandless Vagabond. When he wasn't chasing Motley Crue on tour, or going to see whatever band came close to town or working with his Grandfather, Julian was in his studio jamming and listening to every record he could get his hands on, to stay as close, and as relevant, as possible to the music scene. His grandparents only became concerned when school started to suffer. Julian's answer? He dropped out! What else was a young rock and roller supposed to do? Despite their brief disappointment, they always supported and encouraged his dreams.
Julian managed to somehow land a girlfriend in his spare time, not that he was hurting for adoration from the female persuasion by any means. Girls were just not on his list of priorities, which his friends thought was strange for a rock junkie like Julian. Rebecca Crenshaw had her eye on him from the moment she had first encountered him playing guitar at a party she attended. He was there for work, not pleasure. The Crue was coming to Cedar Rapids in a few weeks, and his wallet was a bit shy of funds to score his usual backstage pass. He never bought a ticket to a show without getting a pass as well. That was important! He never would have met them in person without it. The pictures he got with that initial encounter, kick started his need to chase that adrenaline rush repeatedly.
Rebecca, always assuming she caught the eye of every male in the room, waited patiently for the handsome guitar player to finish his set and mingle. She ignored all the other adoring females clamoring for his attention. They were simply insignificant to her. But he had disappeared from the party, which was unacceptable! She hunted down the lead singer, demanding as much information as he was willing to dispense with. She would have to chase down her future, since it seemed as though he was a bit distracted. She would fix all that nonsense. Rebecca was a spoiled little rich girl that didn't actually come from money. She was somehow under the delusion she was an unrivaled beauty queen that every girl wanted to be, and every boy wanted to be with. She was an average looking girl, nothing special, manipulative and mean in order to get her way, which she usually did. If she didn't, her anger was potent, and she threw a tantrum better than any toddler ever recorded. She was an only child, not surprising, and Daddy's little Princess. She never grew out of that mentality. She walked through life as if everyone around her was there for her bidding, oblivious to the fact that she was incredibly disliked by most who encountered her. What 'friends' she did have, tolerated her out of fear, because she held some nasty secret of theirs hostage. Easily done in a small town after all. She made it her mission to destroy anyone she deemed offensive to her status. No one stood in the way of what she wanted, and she wanted Julian. She would take down the world's most notorious rock band if they got in her way!
