Chapter 2

Macie's POV

I closed my eyes trying to breathe. it's only first period on the first day of school and Brian is in it. Flashbacks are coming back and I could feel my breathing get heavier.

"I love you" I said to Brian. We have been dating for 8 months. Everyone says he's trouble but he's really not that bad. "I love you too baby"

We were at the park just sitting on the swings messing around but it was 1:30 in the morning. He picked me up from my house at 11. I snuck out my window. We were smoking too. He said it was a fun. It is but the only reason I started was because of him.

"I should go Brian. My mom and sister and..."

"No."

"Bri-" I was cut off by a slap across my face.

I opened my eyes to get that memory out of my head. I started to find a desk but the only one was right next to him.

I sat down trying so hard to avoid making eye contact with him. He is the reason for a lot of shit in my life. And I hate that he has this..control.

"Hey babe. Did you miss me?" he started and I closed my eyes. "Get away from me Brian. of course I don't miss you!" I snapped back. "Sit back down and leave me alone."

I made it through first period with Brian, and made it through second, third and forth.

I was on my way to my locker to put my purse in it and to meet Matt. "Hey Mace! Did you have a good day so far?" Matty said walking up behind me. "I have first period with Brian, Matt."

"Oh" was all he could say. And I'd probably say the same thing.

"Matt remember what happened last year?! I can not do this! I can't!" I started crying. My phone had buzzed in my locker. Who could that possibly be? It was a text message.

From: Blocked
You looked hot today Mace.. I miss you.

"What the fuck?" I basically shouted. Matt looked at me and then took my phone. "Uhm okay."

"Matt I don't know what to do." I said while taking my phone back from Matt. Matt and Brian are the only ones that call me Mace....

I slammed my locker shut and went to find Brian.

"Hey Macie you lo-"

"Not now Nicki. Sorry" this girl Nicki I don't know if you would call us friends. She's some junior who says I'm her idol. like what? I pushed open the cafeteria doors and they made a loud noise and a lot of people turned around and started whispering. A couple seconds later Matt walked up behind me.

"Who knows where Brian Parks is?" I shouted so the whole cafeteria could hear me. At this point my make up is all over my face and my hair is in a pony tail and I probably look like a crazy person.

I turned around and looked at Matt and saw someone behind him. Brian.

I walked up to Brian and pushed him and screamed fuck you and ran to the bathroom crying. When I said this was the worst day ever. This was the worst day ever.

I asked Matty to please take me home and stay with me until my mom got home. My step dad would be there and I'm not about to be alone with him in the house.

"I'm sorry you couldn't finish the first day of school Matt." I apologised.

"Don't be sorry, Mace! You went through a lot today and I completely understand." he replied.

When we got to my house my step dad was home. We went upstairs to my room and I shut the door and locked it. My step dad heard me come through the front door and go upstairs so he came upstairs.

He banged on the door and I jumped. Matty stood up from my bed and took steps closer to me.

"Macie, I know you're home. open your door" he said and I shivered and walked closer to Matt. "I don't feel good so I'm going to take a nap." I shouted from across the room. He always tries to be alone with me. Eventually he went back downstairs and I could breathe again. I walked into my closet to change while Matty picked out something for us to watch.

I walked out of my closet in leggings, my favorite hoodie and my hair finally made its way into a messy bun.

I laid down on my bed with Matt and we started watching a movie. Halfway through the movie I could feel my eyes get heavier and next thing I noticed I was asleep.
