"I suppose" Hermione said at last.
"Good then their are a couple of rules we should discuss. I'll owl you them and we can go over them later."
He stood up as if nothing had happened and walked to the doorway.
"Oh, and Hermione."
"What?"
"Thank you". He said this without turning and then quickly walked out of her book shop.
Draco Malfoy had just said thank you. She had just said yes to dating him, pretend of course, but still.
Hermione went back to work, thinking of her own rules she would like to set for Malfoy. She went to lunch but try as she might, she could not think of how she was going to get from one part of her story to the next. Hermione knew that she wanted to happen, but the problem was how to get there.
She went back to the shop and worked late into the night, to make up for her non-existent progress on her book.
Then she went home and started to bake. She baked pies, cakes, cupcakes, and brownies. Hermione decorated them with detail and then started on, another batch. Her mother always helped her bake, and had always told Hermione it helped the thoughts to flow again.
She didn't have her mother anymore, but she kept these traditions that made it feel as if she still had her parents.
Hermione finally looked up from a cupcake and saw the time, 12:00. She put her tools away and washed the dishes with a sweep of her wand. If it had been earlier, she would have washed them by had, letting the warm water wash over her hands, but she knew she had work tomorrow and the store needed her.
She took a quick shower, and fell into her bed, asleep before she hit the pillow.
