Mina's Fear

Dark. Many children are afraid of this, thunder as well. But would anyone expect a smart, serious girl like Mina to be afraid of one of these, let alone both?

That's what she thought too.

Mina was hiding in her locker, cowering in a ball. Yes, she knew what thunder was and that it couldn't hurt her, but the noise really bothered her, as for the dark, well she did have every light on in her house, but it was the dark outside she was worried about. When she was with friends in the dark, she was fine.

But she was all alone, although Mini Mina was also there with her, in Mina's arms.

"C-come on M-Mina i-it's just air collapsing. Stop being a baby!" Said Mina

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

"AHH" she screamed

Mina began to sob.

*Knock, knock*

"Huh? Who could that be?" Mina asked

"Mina, could you turn down the light, Rita is over and can't sleep with it on."

Mina mustered up all her courage and went to answer the door.

"Hey uhh Mina, have you been crying?" asked Bello concerned

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!

"Aaaaaaah!" She screamed jumping into Bellos arms.

"Mina, are you afraid of thunder?" Bello asked

"Mmmhmm" Mina replied shaking her head.

"Would you like to come over with us?"

"R-really?"

"Yup"

"Thanks"

"No problem!"

Mina and Bello walked to his house, with Mina holding onto him the entire way.

AT BELLO'S HOUSE

Mini Mina was sleeping on a pillow on a table, whilst Mina was sitting on the couch with Rita and Bello drinking cocoa.

"So you're scared of thunder and the dark Mina?" Rita asked

"Yes I always have been." she said sitting in the fetal position

"But you've been in the dark before and have been just fine." Said bello

"When I'm with all of you I'm fine, and  my house being dark doesn't bother me either, but it's really the thought of what could be outside at night that bothers me."

"But you do know the only things outside are cute widdle Dodos right?" Rita asked

"Yes I know Rita, but I'm still scared."

Some more thunder came, and Mina hid under her blanket

"I just (sniff) want it to go away." She said crying.

She came back out, and when she did, Bello motioned for her to come closer. He then hugged her as she cried into his shoulder.

"There there Mina, you're not alone in this. I'm here."

"Thank you Bello." Mina said

"Well it is getting rather late, we should get to bed"

And so they all cuddled up together in a nest on the floor, and went to sleep. As they were sleeping, Mina had a dream that her and her friends were all playing together
