Theo was staring at the pack sitting in the McCall's living room, three months have passed since the war, and the whole gang was back together for the first time. A lot has changed since then, and Theo noticed it all. He noticed a lot of things everyone else didn't; he didn't know if he was just him being intuitive or the Dread Doctors had it ingrained in him to be observant, but he appreciated it.
Scott was sitting with Malia on the couch, legs touching, both of them smiling, and talking to Derek at the other end. They were happy for once in their lives. After Peter finally took Malia on her excursion to Europe, she moved in with him at school, and they just grew in their relationship. Despite everyone's shock at them getting together, they were meant to be together. Malia needed Scott's control, but Scott needed Malia to keep him in check, a mix of softness and strength. They made a powerful couple only someone with a death wish would threaten. Scott was radiating joy; his pack was here, all okay, no supernatural threats crashing their winter break. It was the first span of peace he has had in years. Malia was smiling ear to ear; she had a family now. Peter was surprisingly acting like a father now. Derek was the cousin she did not even know she needed, more of a brother to her now. Lydia was the friend that she never expected to have. Stiles was still the first human she ever connected with, and no one could ever break their friendship. She acted as an older sister to the younger members of the pack, and Melissa was the mother that filled the void that was taken from her. She didn't even care about Theo anymore; they even talked without fangs flashing earlier. She was at peace, in control, and filled with love.
Derek was leaning back on the couch content as could be. He had been chasing down hunters with Argent and Peter, and right now everything was in check for him this was a vacation. Braeden showed up once and a while to keep him in check; he was right where he wanted to be. Peter and Argent were sitting at the kitchen table; Melissa's hand intertwined with the hunter's, and the hellhound sitting beside their former enemy. Argent had a new life filled with love and family again. Never would he thought he would fall in love again, but here he was sitting with the nurse happier than he thought he could ever be. He loved Victoria, missed Allison more than anything, but Melissa was different. You can't rank love, but he was happier with her. Scott was the son he never expected taking under his wing. Derek was the partner that for some reason he was able to work better with than anyone else in his life. He actually could work with Peter too, sure a few threats here and there, but they had each other's backs even if neither would say it out loud. He also had two new boys he basically adopted: Nolan and Alec. He trained the new hunter properly with compassion and skill instead of a plan of vengeance, and he overlooked Scott's development of Alec. The young werewolf and the teenage hunter lived with Melissa and him when he was in town after rescuing Alec from Monroe's grasp and when they realized Nolan was living basically on his own.
Melissa was smiling at her children, all of them, Scott of course bringing them all to her, her second son with his childhood crush finally in his arms, the daughter he brought to her, the lover she never expected, two new kids living under her roof, and of course the small group of high school seniors who would show up bloody and in need of a hug she would always give them.
Peter stared at the small group, a small smile on his face. He never would say anything, but it actually made his heart melt a little bit, sure they were stupid, but they had hope. The daughter he would do anything for snuggled in against his former beta, his nephew finally content, a partner out of his former nemesis, and a weird friendship with a young man who could erupt in flames.
Parrish was sitting beside Peter, smiling, of course, the hellhound was usually one of the more joyful ones out of the group. He found people to finally connect with keeping Beacon Hills in check, taking some of the load of the Sheriff. Men to fight alongside with and the guidance of a former murderous werewolf that he never thought he needed. A group of kids he kept in line and was always ready for their call to come to save them time and time again.
