~3rd person POV~
Wilbur and Astrid look at each other confused
"what do you mean Tommy?" Astrid asks
"Exactly what the fuck I just said. Dream is attacking" Tommy says, panic lacing his voice
"Astrid you stay here, If Dream catches you it won't be good" Wilbur says, She nods though she didn't want to stay, if she risks Dream catching her she may never see L'manburg again.
Wilbur follows Tommy outside, Dream stands on the obsidian walls of L'manburg
"Dream!" Wilbur shouts
"Ah~ Wilbur! Just the person I wanted to see!" Dream exclaims "L'manburg is filled with TNT and the button I hold in my hand will set it off as soon as I press it"
"What!?" Wilbur yells
"Surrender and hand over L'manburg to it's rightful owner or say goodbye to L'manburg forever" Dream smirks behind his mask.
"Everyone get to shelter now!" Wilbur yells "Dream, I will not be surrendering or handing over L'manburg. If you want to take the cowards way out and not fight for it then blow L'manburg up. I don't care but I will not hand over what is ours just like that"
"ok then!" Dream smiles cheerfully, pressing the button in his hands.
The ground beneath them cracks open and explodes with loud booms, Wilbur bolts to the library to grab Astrid. He throws open the door and Astrid runs to him
"what the hell was that?!" She yells
"We just have to get somewhere safe now!" Wilbur exclaims, grabbing her by the hand and dragging her out of the library.
The only problem is...
"There's nowhere safe!" Astrid panics
"Shit." Wilbur hisses as everything around them explodes
"GAH!" Astrid shrieks "Why the hell can't TNT all explode at once!?"
"get to a place where TNT has already exploded. if it's already exploded there it can't explode anymore right?" Wilbur says.
"great idea" Astrid replies.
The two run to an empty crater that had been created by the TNT and sit down in it.
After a few moments everything goes silent, they look at each other hesitantly before peeking their heads out from the crater
"holy..." Wilbur starts
"shit-" Astrid finishes for him
"...My L'manburg" Wilbur whispers, pulling himself out of the protection hole. Astrid follows, looking at the destruction around them. Astrid wanders off to look for citizens to see if everyone is ok, Wilbur stands in shock.
"Astrid!" Someone yells, She turns her head to see Niki holding a fox boy close. She runs over to them and sits down next to them.
"what happened?" She asks, checking the boy's pulse
"I- I don't know I just found him here like this!" Niki stutters out, her breathing fast, tears filling her eyes
"That's ok, its fine, please take a minute to breathe it'll be ok." Astrid says reassuringly. She checks the fox for any open wounds or broken bones "He seems to have just hit his head and it knocked him out...I can't check for a concussion until he gains consciousness though" Niki nods, a confused look on her face "what I'm saying is he's gonna be ok" Astrid says "But we have to get him to the infirmary."
"If it's still there" Niki adds, Astrid sighs worriedly
"That's what I'm afraid of..." she mumbles.
She picks up the small fox boy up in her arms and carries to him towards the infirmary. Thankfully there was only a small bit of damage done to it. She lays the boy on the bed, checking his breathing speed and pulse again.
"So Astrid," Niki says, sitting down in a chair next to the bed "Where did you learn so much about medicine and stuff?"
"My mom made me take 2 years of medical school." Astrid states, gathering a few bandages for the small cuts on Fundy's body.
Niki nods "Oh that must've been fun!" she exclaims
"I hated it. I dropped out after 2 years because I realized that it was something that I would never want to do... but I did learn a few useful things while I was in there so-" Astrid shrugs
"wasted two years of your life for nothing" Niki mutters
"My mother wasted 20 years of my life for nothing" Astrid jokes "she treated me and my brother like shit, acted like she didn't want us there but refused to emancipate us at 16"
"Oh im sorry" Niki says
"Eh- it's nothing much anymore, I still got the trauma but...At least it's over" Astrid says. Humor was always her way of coping with her unresolved mental issues, she lives by the rule "If it hurts you laugh about it instead." Its definitely not healthy but at least its a start.
Niki frowns slightly at the girl as astrid continues treating Fundy's wounds.
The boy stirs a bit before his eyes flutter open
"Hi honey!" Astrid smiles as she notices that he's awake "How are you feeling?"
The fox rubs his head and winces "not too great" he mumbles
"Hm..Dont worry darling we'll get you all fixed up...can you tell me what happened?" Astrid asks
"I don't really remember, I heard booms, My dad yell then boom everything went black" Fundy explains.
Astrid shines a flashlight in his chocolate brown eyes, his pupils dilating at an insane amount "Jesus christ..." Astrid whispers "Yeah it's definitely a concussion give me a sec" She walks over to the ice chest and puts some ice in a bag, she hands it to Fundy and he puts it on his head.
"How long have i been out?" Fundy asks
"hm, I'm not sure..niki?" Astrid says
"About 45 minutes" Niki replies, Fundy sighs, laying back down on the bed.
"Is l'manburg ok?" He asks, Astrid looks at Niki, Sadness filling her eyes
"...i wouldn't say okay but, definitely fixable" Astrid replies "Will is...quite upset."
Fundy lets out an upset sigh "Dream took the cowards way out" he hisses, Astrid stays silent.
"Niki, if he needs anything you know where to find me ok? i'll be back" Astrid says before walking out. L'manburg is in shambles, Wilbur stands in distraught not too far from her, Tommy is yelling to Tubbo and a few other people are digging through the rubble for their stuff. Anger courses through Astrids veins as she runs towards home. She throws the door open to find dream sitting on the couch.
"You bitch!" She yells, receiving a shocked look from Clay "You blew up lmanburg."
"How did you know that?" Dream questions
"It's a small land, word travels pretty quickly. Surely you didn't think you could hide this from me forever." Astrid lies
"It was all for good." Dream explains
"All for good?!" Astrid exclaims "all for good?! All for YOUR good. Think of the devastation l'manburg is going to suffer now!"
"it's almost like...that was the point." Dream jokes
"I cant believe you." Astrid scoffs "Instead of fighting and giving them a chance you just blew it all up like the coward you are."
Anger fills dream "Go to your room now." he demands
"no. i'm not. i'm going to l'manburg to help them rebuild. You aren't in control of me." Astrid says before storming out the door, making sure to slam it extra hard behind her.
