Chapter One.

KOEMI'S POV;

Iv'e been friends with Ai for a long time now. It feels like I have known her since the day we were born. We also live very nearby to each other. Thats why of course, everyday we walk to school together. Every time she smiles i'm glad I can be here next to her, sharing these moments with her. Wait. What am I saying? She's just my friend. nothing more. 

"Whats wrong?" Ai asks.

"Oh- its nothing dummy! Let's just get moving" Koemi nervously replied.

"Hmmmm, really? Your face looks red"Ai said.

"I said, i'm fine!" Koemi hesitated.

"If you say so..."Ai observed Koemi's face, moving closer.

"H-HEY! Stop it!-"Koemi stepped back.

"Aww come onnn, whats going on?"Ai questioned for the second time.

"If you don't stop,i wont hesitate to kick you."Koemi said, glaring back at Ai.

"Ohhhh really, you will kick me?"Ai said.

"Just shut up! And then I might not." Koemi hurried to the top of the stairs in her school, Ai following behind her.

Sometimes I see Ai staring at a guy in our class called Rin. He's so kind, caring and popular amongst our school. Of course Ai likes him, nearly every girl does too. Well, every girl except from me that is. He works with the school councillor, Miki Inei. They aren't pretty close since Miki is very introverted and quiet.

"Koemi? Are you listening?" Mrs Kazuhiko asked.

Koemi snapped out of her reality and looked at the teacher in confusion.

"Oh- um, sorry, what was the question?" Koemi replied.

"I asked, what's the answer to 3b+4?" Mrs Kazuhiko asked.

"Oh! Its 19." Koemi sighed, I was lucky to get that easy question, she thought.

"Yes,it is. Thank you everybody, you may go have your break now." Mrs Kazuhiko dismissed the class.

All the students got out of their seats and Koemi waited outside of the door for Ai.

"Sorry I took long!" Ai smiled at Koemi.

"It's fine!" Koemi smiled back.

A guy from another class came up to Koemi.

"Uhm, hello? May I help you?"Koemi asked.

"U-Uh..hello! I was wondering if...you wanted to be friends?" The guy replied.

"Friends? Sorry, I don't do friendships with morons." Koemi sighed.

"Hey, Koemi. Thats rude. Give him a chance." Ai stared at Koemi in disappointment.

They all stood there in silence.

"Fine. But you better not disappoint me by being a stupid friend!" Koemi said, grabbing Ai by the arm, leaving the hall with her.

They stopped at the lunch hall, Koemi let Ai's arm go.

"Really?! Again, you convince me to be friends with random stupid guys..."Koemi looked away.

"Well, its nice for you to have some friends despite your cold attitude towards other people that's not me.." Ai sighed and shook her head.

"I can make friends on my own and decide" Koemi continued.

"Oh reeaaally? How much friends do you have except from me?" Ai asked, observing Koemis face.

"Wel-"Koemi got interrupted by the school bell.

"Hm, you got saved this time, anyways, ill see you next class?" Ai said, slowly turning away to her classroom.

I sighed. Im not the person to easily become friends with. If it wasn't for Ai, I would have been lost. At least I have two friends...thats enough though! I stepped up the steps to my next class. Maths was quite tiring second thing in the morning. My grades are alright. Thats all that matters though, right? I don't need friends.

Before I knew it, it was already time to go home. After a tiring day at school. I always wait for Ai to come out of school since she takes surprisingly long. I wonder why? I have never asked her though. Maybe another day I should check?

"Oh hey Koemi! You waited!" Ai said, surprisingly cheerful.

She's always like this at the end of the school. Why? I wonder. I caught something red in her sleeve while we were both walking home.

"Um..Ai? Whats that?" Koemi asked, pointing at the red tint on her sleeve.

"Oh! What, this? It's um. I was helping the art club with something and got paint on my sleeve!" Ai said quickly, smiling.

"Oh! okay then, I was just curious." Koemi replied.

That's really weird? Ai doesn't usually do arty stuff. she must have a secret hobby or something I guess.

"Well, ill see you tomorrow at school?" Ai said.

"Sure, bye" Koemi replied, waving at Ai.
