A Billion Dollar Bequest to A Stranger - An Inheritance Games Fanfic

Prologue

"Hey," the boy said as he sat down next to the girl on the picnic blanket that they had set out on the beach. 
"Hey," she replied as she laid her head on his shoulder. "Have a good swim?"
"Mhm," was his only reply as he looked down at the girl resting on his shoulder. 
The girl opened the picnic basket and started to lay things out onto the blanket. 
"So, what are we having today, my sweet?" the boy smiled at the girl. 
"Some tea, some sandwiches, cheese and crackers and my special cinnamon rolls," she replied with a smile mirroring his. 
"Aww, this is lovely, my cinnamon roll," he chuckled as he picked up a cinnamon roll from the platter she had brought and stuffed it in his mouth. 
"How is it, honey?" she asked as she watched his face melt with pleasure. 
"Delicious, my sweet," he smiled at her as he finished. 
She giggled at the nicknames he gave her and the icing sugar dusted across his face. 
"You've got some, um," she giggled as she pointed to his mouth, "some sugar." 
"Here?" the boy's fingers tracing his face everywhere but where the sugar was. 
"No, here, let me get it for you," she laughed as she leaned forward to wipe the sugar away. 
Suddenly, the boy leaned in too, his lips meeting hers in a sweet sugary kiss. 
"Baby!" she exclaimed as she laughed and hit his chest out of surprise. "Warn me the next time you kiss me out of the blue like that!"

The two laughed together as they fell into each other's arms once again. 

In the distance behind the couple, a lone girl stood, eyes flooded with tears which streamed down her face as a drop of blood fell from her hands where her nails dug into her palms. 
"Damn you, you fucking Hawthorne," she whispered as she wiped away her tear and ran away.

Hello to everyone reading this! First of all, I hoped that you liked this prologue to start off the story and apologies for the swearing, but there will be some more in the later chapters, so if you are uncomfortable with it, please let me know. Next, I just wanted to say thank you for reading this fanfic! I couldn't really find any ones for the Inheritance Games so I decided to write one myself!
