He was forced by the Russians to try to create a weapon he couldn't create.

They would often threaten to kill his family if he couldn't provide a powerful weapon.
He tried drinking away his stress but it only hindered his research and caused him to drink more.

The longer time progressed the more paranoid and anxious he became.
All the stress led to his schizophrenia worsening.

He's a schizophrenic man that's very anxious and forgetful. In a drunken blackout rage, he kills his children and injures his wife.

When he snaps back to reality he finds his wife gravely injured and near death.

He believes or "remembers" that the Russians killed his family, part of him knows it was really him but he doesn't want to admit it.

Immense guilt fills his soul as he tries to dismiss reality.
While having a mental breakdown, he tries looking for a way to save his wife.

He finds Acura and her family then asks them if they know anything that can save his wife.

One of them accidently says that Aelyonixes can fuse into humans, but it's dangerous for multiple reasons
(one can lose consciousness if it's weaker than the other)
Every other alternative is unavailable to him.

Vincent decides to try taking their souls, seeing as it's the only risk he can take.

He takes the mother's soul, and takes the father's soul and puts it inside a soul gem (family heirloom)

He then kidnaps Acura as a failsafe in case something went wrong. He takes Acura to his wife and finds her dead.

Filled with immense guilt he cuts open his wife hoping to save his unborn child.

He forcefully makes Acura fuse with the unborn child.

He tortures Acura as she is a constant reminder to him of how he failed to save his family.
He thought Acura and his child would share a body.

He thought they'd grow up with two consciousness,
two souls,
two personalities,
two different beings.
One Acura and one his real daughter.

When he looks at Acura all he sees is the corpse of his daughter being controlled by something inhuman, like a marionette.

He kidnaps other Aelyonixes and tortures them due to his deep hatred of Acura and all Aelyonixes.

His hatred branches from not wanting to blame himself, not wanting to see reality.

However this mainly happens when he's drunk. When he's sober, he's less abusive and more just putting her through terrible experiments that led to her receiving two new elements for the sake of creating a weapon.

He first did these experiments on other Aelyonixes, so as to not lose his daughter, and ended up making 4 amalgam Aelyonixes in the process, hence why he only stopped at three elements with Acura.

"If i make you the weapon, they'll put you in a worse hell than even I've ever been in."
