You Never Know

Lisa's POV

Today is the award show, and we're here getting ready to enter the venue. I am so excited to perform and to see Joohyun. We didn't get to meet again because we are busy preparing for our performances. We did call each other sometimes. 

Fans screaming their heart out is all I heard as we enter the venue. Hearing them gets me excited, I wanna perform now. We walked towards our table and saw red velvet sitting there also. I suddenly got nervous seeing her, and my heart is beating so fast.

Why is she so beautiful?

"Is there something wrong?" Jennie asked me 

I didn't even know I froze on my spot.

"N-nothing," I stuttered, looking away from her.

Jennie held my hand, and we sat together with red velvet. I am sitting next to her, she's at my right and Jennie unnie is at my left. I keep stealing glances at her, trying to get her attention. I looked at her members and saw them talking to my members. I am feeling out of place. 

Great, I'm alone again, and Joohyun is not even looking at me 

I poked her arms to get her attention. She looked at me and raised her brows. I smiled at her, and she looked away. My smile vanished.

What was that? Is she really going to ignore me? What did I even do? I pouted and focused my attention on the mc talking. 

"Psst" 

"Hey,"

"Lis,"

I annoyingly look back only to see Nayeon smiling at me. I didn't even notice them sitting there because my attention was on Joohyun. My pout left my face, replacing it with a smile.

"Are you bored?" She asked

I can't help but pout, "Yeah, super," 

"I'm also bored. Do you want to go backstage with me? I brought choco uyu" She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

I laughed at her. I know she feels my discomfort. That's why she's doing this. 

"Sur-" I didn't finish what I'm saying when my phone beeped.

From My Bae:

Don't you dare go with her, meet me backstage. And I don't take no as an answer. 

I look at her, and she's glaring at Nayeon and us. Why is she like this? Isn't she ignoring me? I looked at her confusedly, but she stood up and walked backstage. I looked at Nayeon, who was looking at the place where Joohyun went, and she then looked at me. 

"Nayeon I-" 

"No worries, maybe next time," She said, smiling at me

"O-okay." 

I waited for the right moment and stood up. 

"Jisoo unnie, I'll just go to the restroom," I lied.

"Yeah, sure," She said, focusing her attention on Seulgi again.

I smiled unknowingly. She must be crushing on Seulgi. I'll tease her later.

I walked where Joohyun walked earlier, and there are so many idols in here, specifically men. I got my phone and asked her where she's at when an arm pulled me into a room and locked it. 

"What the -" 

"Joohyun, why are we here?" I asked softly

Her glares are making my knees weak. She didn't answer me and instead, she came closer. I shield my face with my hands, afraid of her. Instead, I feel her tiny hands making way to my neck, pulling me closer to her. 

"I'm sorry, I ignored you earlier," She said with her small voice.

I hugged her back, and she dangerously put her head on the crook of my neck, sniffing me. 

Did she just sniff me?

She pulled back, not letting go of my neck yet. 

"It's ok, Joohyun." I smiled at her. 

She just stared at me while playing with the baby hair on my neck. I shivered with her touch and blushed. 

"What's with you and Nayeon?" She suddenly asked

"We're friends." 

"That's good to know," She said, smiling

"What I-" 

She kissed my cheeks and giggled at me. 

"You're not allowed to be in a relationship yet, Manoban," She said seriously

Is she bipolar?

"Wait, why not?" I asked her

"Not when it's not me who you'll date," She said seriously

I laughed awkwardly. Is she joking right now? 

"Haha, nice joke, Hyun."

"I'm not even joking, Lisa," She said, holding my hand and dragging me back to our table.

I saw our members looking at us. I started to let go of her hands, but she intertwined her hands with mine and held my hand firmly. I smiled at my members and sat down on my chair. 

"You have a lot of explaining to do later, Lisa." 

I look at Jennie, who was staring at our intertwined hands. I gulped, and before I got to answer her, our manager told us to get backstage because we're performing next. I stood up, and Joohyun wished me good luck. I smiled at her and walked with Jisoo, who was looking at me teasingly. 

God, help me

We performed Lovesick girls and Love to Hate Me. While performing, I can't stop looking at Joohyun. I almost tripped because her beauty was distracting me, but we performed perfectly and received cheer from our fans and from the other idols. 

We get back to our table, and Red velvet congratulate us and cheer for us.

"Wow, you look so hot performing there, Lis," I heard Nayeon from the back

I looked at her and smiled shyly. Joohyun immediately held my hands under the table and pouted. Jesus Christ, I almost squeal at how cute she looks right now. 

"Stop being cute, I might show the world how gay I am by kissing those lips of yours," I said confidently.

She laughed and pinched my cheeks. 

Rosé coughed, and that's when we realized that the event was over and our members were standing looking at us teasingly except Jennie unnie, who was rolling her eyes. 

What's her problem?

I smiled awkwardly and stood up. Joohyun does the same, but she doesn't look embarrassed at all. 

Jennie held my hands after we said goodbye to Red Velvet and the other idols around us. She didn't let go of my hands even after we entered our car. Rosé and Jisoo looked at each other knowingly, and I looked at them confusedly. 

I looked at Jennie asking her if she was okay, but she only said 'nothing's wrong' and laid her head on my shoulders intertwining our hands, and she then closed her eyes. 

This day was so weird.
