she remembered the day they sat in silence beside the track, watching as the sky changed colours and started glowing early that morning.
she wanted to hold his hand so badly. but the students that gathered around the track stopped her from doing so. she did not want rumours being spread and neither did he.
there was something about that silence. about his presence. about her presence. that made the other feel safe, made them feel like nothing was impossible.
and as the bell rang signalling the start of school, they waved goodbye to each other.
"thanks."
