Shoto tries to smile softly, sadly. The smile doesn't reach his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Yaoyorozu-san, but I don't feel the same way."
A crack in her chest, and another, and another. It's pathetic, this feeling of shame.
Momo Yaoyorozu doesn't do love. She is too foolish, too witless to fall for someone. She isn't supposed to fall for someone. Her chest was never supposed to tingle whenever a certain someone walks by, and the corners of her lips were never meant to quiver up whenever she heard a certain someone speak.
She swallows.
And yet, as Shoto turns his back and walks away as if nothing happened, as if he didn't leave Yaoyorozu surrounded by the shattered splinters of her emotions, Yaoyorozu thinks she finally understands the word "heartbreak."
Momo Yaoyorozu doesn't do love.
