"in her POV"

I've met my fair share of regretful instances sprouted by my own fallacious thinking. In less than a year, I'd legally be an adult and that notion frightens me. What guarantees I won't make more bad choices in the future? Since I first opened my eyes to the world, it was destined that my stubbornness and dramatic rationale would be somewhat responsible for everything that has occurred in my lifetime. I've already come to terms of my flaws like how self-sufficient I strived to be and constantly punish myself for it. But when I pull myself out of the dark puddle I drown in, there is a light just above the surface. As I make my way towards it, I accept the optimism pumping my adrenaline. I recognize my mind slowly transitioning back to reality.

And there I am. Above the surface, awing at one of many people that changed the course of my life. I've found happiness a third time. Suddenly I find myself consumed by that very light.

Part of me was grateful he didn't catch me daydreaming, another part wished he spared even a glance. What was so interesting about his lap anyways? As I heard the rapid tapping on a screen, I felt dumb for not realizing it sooner. He was preoccupied with his phone and he made zero effort concealing it. The urge to kick his leg from underneath the table was, oh, so tempting but when catching sight of his aggravation smeared all over his face, I let him off the hook. One thing was certain, he was waiting for something that should've arrived ages ago. It was obvious from both that and the sound of wet grass smooshed by a tapping foot.

It piqued my interest all the same that we were alone despite the footsteps and soft chatter I can make out from beyond my shoulders. Maybe it was because I was in their proximity because Sasuke barely took notice. I would've screamed to the abyss if Sasuke hadn't slammed his phone down in a rage.

"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Uchiha. May I offer you a beverage?"

And there goes my initial plan. Startled by a random man baring from beneath the shadows, I yelped for a second before quickly masking the noise with a slap to my mouth. I hovered my other hand over my heart in an attempt to calm its lively beating and Sasuke would've laughed in my face if he wasn't so pissed at Naruto. So this is who he was waiting for.

"Dobe, I suggest you quit playing around before this becomes your final moment," reminded Sasuke, keeping the same peevish look from earlier.

Naruto never took Sasuke's threats seriously when he really should. I've heard countless tales from Ino where they'd fight on minor things that could've been prevented if the stubborn Uzumaki complied.

Which is why Naruto was such an abnormal soul; he'll say yes to things he should immediately reject. Sporting a tacky, pink maid outfit should not make him this confident; if anything it should be degrading. To Sasuke, it was blatantly insulting and he wouldn't give the blonde the satisfaction of glancing at it. It only gave more reason to click his tongue. To think I almost thought this was all part of Sasuke's plan. "I'll just have ice water. What about you, Sasuke-kun?"

His lethal-filled gaze was concentrated on Uzumaki's smug expression. "I'll have the same." After years of accustomed solitude, developing arid eyes was bound to occur. However, his smoky eyes revealed a small flame further fueled by Naruto's teasing snickers. Naruto didn't bother pretending to fulfill Sasuke's every expectation. As always, he wouldn't take this seriously and why did Sasuke expect any different? A regrettable sigh escaped his tense jaw. "Of course they'd treat this as a joke."
