Yeet, Salty here. I'm currently in the car. Where am I going? Totally not taking a 3 day off from school work. Mhm mhm.
Now it's been a while since i've properly written a first person perspective story. Sooo let me take this moment to write one.
Rei's POV
It was 2:35 in the afternoon, I was in my car simply minding my own business as the sound of water droplets splattered against the outside of the window. The weather felt heavy, it was somewhat dark despite the sun's direct positioning above us. Obviously what was I to expect on a rainy day?As I turned my head to the direction outside my windshield, something caught my attention amidst the gray environment. Trees. Green trees. For some reason the trees appeared brighter than everything else, I could almost see the sunlight filling in the gaps formed by the wet leaves. I continued to observe the trees carefully, perhaps I was just bored, or maybe I was just trying to distract myself from my father's loud phone call with his peers. Mother was just scoffing over my dad's conversation, making side comments from time to time if ever she heard something unpleasant. Meanwhile, my brother was sipping his choco ice cream shake loudly, attempting to consume the viscous caramel stuck at the corners of the cup while the ice cubes blocked the straw's hole. Hmm, the water droplets from the tree was reflecting the light from the sun.. I'm bored.
My father drove pass by the pharmacy to drop my mother off, they were quarreling for a good minute before that. Where to drop off? What to buy? You sure that the store is open? Oh well it doesn't matter anyways. After my father dropped my mother off, we went to a parking area. My brother we feeling a little itchy, he had to pee. Now I'm alone in the car, it was peaceful. Father told me to look after it while they were gone. It is situations like these that make me anxious yet excited. What if a thief actually attempted to rob something off our car? I could throw my iPad right now and forget the story I'm writing. So what if that robber had a gun? He wouldn't dare to kill me; my death would haunt him in his sleep, the heavy heart he will have to go through as guilt suffocates him every hour. Besides, I could care less if I die.
My parents came back and we finally got what we needed; water. Yes, all that for a water bottle. Funny story though, in this pandemic we live in, it is a common curfew law that children below 15 are forbidden to leave the household after 12 noon. My brother is 13, I believe, or maybe 14. He shouldn't be seen walking outside while exposing himself to danger. Good thing my dad told him to say that he's 15, a common lie encouraged by asian parents to get away with many things; whether a promo, buffet discounts, privileges, and, in situations like these, curfews. But at the back in my mind, I wondered how a short, white, Korean-looking child like him would convince an officer that he is 15. It can't be that easy.
It was that easy.
After another 15 minute road trip, we finally arrived to our destination; J Park Resort. We went out of our car, picked up our bags. One, two, three... six! Six bags. Heck who's idea was it to fill two bags full of snacks and junk food? Oh wait that was me.
We made our way to the lobby, which... to be honest, I was overwhelmed. I do not know what or why, perhaps it was my lack of human interaction for almost a year. But I'm pretty sure our last J Park visit was just as crowded as this one. The only difference was that everyone is wearing their masks and just as deprived as me from interaction. The cashiers were satisfying the newcomers, my dad was standing in the line, while the rest of us found a comfy bench couch to stay on. The bags were heavy, so I needed that rest.
As observant as a journalist can be, I was pretty much eyeing people from every distance in every angle. Something about my lack of interaction made me feel like a creep, or maybe I was just intrigued with the new faces behind the masks. I saw a cute looking person, in my standards she or probably he was cute. Honestly I can't tell because of the mask and the hairstyle, short puffy hair, feminine body shape, casual sport shoes, business-y looking outfit, somewhat flat-chested... yeah, I can't tell; but majority of my braincells agreed that it's a cute girl.
Speaking of women, I do not know if it is just me, but for some reason women these days are starting to look younger, while actually young ladies actually look like teenagers. It's hard to tell a difference unless they've got a really obvious body feature difference; or when they have a child beside them. And they're also starting to look prettier? Dunno.
9:25 PM
I'm on a mattress, gosh I should not have eaten too much. My stomach is so full, I could barely breathe, moving around is a bother, maybe I should just fall asleep.
