Mia

I was just combing my hair when I heard someone open the door and quietly enter the apartment. I smiled at myself in the mirror because it couldn't be anyone other than Edwin. Apparently he had forgotten some documents before leaving, which had been kicked all over the bar, and now he was probably back after them. I quickly pulled my hair into a rubber band and went looking for it.

I entered the living room, and although I could smell freshly brewed coffee, I was surprised to see Edwin nowhere. I poured coffee into a cup and kept looking for it. I also looked at the terrace, but to no avail. Disappointed, I went back inside, and only now did I notice that a delicious breakfast was waiting for me on the table instead, as I liked. Yogurt with fruit and muesli, a teapot with hot tea, but my attention was drawn mainly to the white envelope on which a red rose was placed. When I noticed my name written on it with a red pen, my eyes immediately lit up with anticipation and my heart pounded.

I reached for the rose, took a deep breath of its scent, and then placed it next to a cup of coffee. Before opening the mysterious envelope, I first looked at it from every side and thought about what Edwin wanted to tell me with this gesture. Since it was like dragonflies from the very beginning - once up, once down and the last few days also looked all sorts of things, I didn't even dare to guess what it should mean.

But the longer I lingered to open it, the more it seemed to me that the envelope was weighing on my hands. I felt a certain hesitation that I did not expect, and with a bad premonition I realized that something had changed. Suddenly I didn't even want to open it, but Edwin's letter, let him tell me anything as if he were speaking to me, so I finally opened it.

In the envelope, I found a folded piece of paper, which he quickly pulled out of his diary, which immediately became a little suspicious. Of course, I did not expect a request for a hand in that letter, it was still relatively early, but rather I waited for a request that our paths not diverge tomorrow and that we try to build a strong relationship. Maybe it only incorporated my lush imagination again, but the truth was also that in the last week, despite frequent quarrels, we got quite close, not only sexually, but also as friends.

The deep red rose told me that he must have wanted to confess his love for me, even though it didn't suit me. Edwin was not a romantic type, but rather pragmatic. Even before I started reading the letter, I quickly looked around to see if Edwin was hiding here and secretly watching me, but no one but me.

As soon as I scanned the few lines written in Edwin's neat handwriting, I measured. I turned pale and no one would get blood inside me. Nemo stared and read the same words all around, until they began to flow before my eyes.

Mia, at 11.30, Ali and will pick you up in front of the hotel

will take you to the airport, where you will be at the departure hall

my stewartka Becky will be waiting for you

escorted to the plane.

I'm sorry, but I think this

will be the best solution for both of us.

Farewell

Edwin

I slowly exhaled the trapped air from my lungs and shook my head incomprehensibly, still not looking at the piece of paper. I didn't want to believe what was written there. It was ridiculous.

"For God's sake," my heart pierced, and a desperate fury swept over me. "He doesn't mean this," I shouted in unbearable silence in the apartment.

I convinced myself that it was probably just a cruel joke. I tried desperately to wonder if last night I had missed something in his behavior that had driven me away from me in such a rude way, but I didn't remember anything specific. After all, everything developed very well. Opera, evening walk, champagne, his scorching views, amazing sex, spending the night together ...
