Deep in the nightly streets of Seatle screams of fear could be heard following by the echo of skin meeting skin. In the back of a cul de sac a poor woman was being beat up for refusing a big burly man's advances. She desperatly called for help but none came.
None of the natural kind that is.
The non rightfully angry man stopped punching and looked back as he heard the sound of metal chain being dragged against the ground. Squinting at the dark he didn't see anything but the one watching him could. Slowly the full moon peaked from the dark clouds revealing a tired looking thirtheen year old boy in combat boots and a leather jacket. Laughing the man told the newcomer to scram before he got hurt. He turned back to the terrified woman raising his hand, but he couldn't do anything as the long chain the boy was dragging swiftly wrapped around his wrist. The man tried to tug himself free but the boy nor the chain budged an inch.
"You can live another day if you leave the city tonight." The boy said calmly.
The Man turned around his wrist still in chains. He stomped towards the bored looking boy who merely tightened his grip on the chain.
To any random person passing by there was only a brief but bright flash of blue light, and an even briefer scream of agony.
The boy sneezed as some of the airborn ashes sneaked into his nose. "Are you ok?" He asked the Shell shocked woman.
A high pitch shriek of terror was his only answer. She ran around him and back into the street. The boy sighed and then groaned exasperatedly as sirens echoed in the distance.
"I need vacations" he deadpanned to himself.
A YEAR LATER IN MAINE.
"Damien Damien!" A young exited voice pulled him from his slumber. The ball was boring in his opinion so he opted to take a nap on the bleachers instead. That was until the eager little Nico di Angelo decided to share informations about his newest mythomagic card. He was a real nerd on the subject and while Damien wasn't that interested he was happy to indulge the child. "What is it tiny?" He asked with a small smile his voice still heavy with sleep. "I managed to trade the Nemesis card with another student, it's not very powerful but it can redirect half the damage done by any other attack!"
"That's great, hey where's your sister usually she's the one who has to suffer throught your rants" Damien replied looking around and making sure he sounded joking.
Nico hit him in the shoulder with a pout while Damien chuckled fondly. It's then that Bianca joined them, she looked much like her little brother olive skin black hair and dressed in old fashioned clothing.
"Nico you better not be bothering Damien."
After assuring her that it was fine Damien glanced at the crowd and saw a small group of teenagers glancing they're way including Grover, a scrawny guy who kept glancing at the small group whenever he thought they weren't looking. Now that Damien thought about it he did that a lot.
The small group started dancing with each other as Jesse Mcartney played in the background. Damien narrowed his eyes at the group something about them was wrong he could feel it.
Sadly he didn't have time to reflect on it as Dr Thorn approached them and asked Bianca and Nico to follow him. Damien frowned, he knew exactly who and what Dr Thorn was, but he needed to bide his time for a little longer. Nico looked back at Damien and he nodded to the small boy. Shortly after that one of the people in the strange group passed by and took the same path as Dr Thorn.
Damien decided to follow him from a distance minding the fact that the boy's companions most likely saw him. Sticking to the shadows the other boy was too busy looking for the Dr. Thorn to see him. Suddenly he swerved around into a room, Damien stayed where he was and waited. After hearing a grunt of pain coming from behind the door Dr. Thorn came out with his three hostages and made his way towards the nearest exit, not yet realising that he was being tailed. Soon they were all walking deep into the forest surrounding the school. Damien peaked from behind a three and saw armed men suddenly surround and escort the small group. Damien frowned he would need to take them out first.
