«Yes. That's exactly what I am telling you.»
Sehun waited a few seconds before answering, and to Yixing it seemed like the younger had been internally struggling with himself.
The dancer felt a tad bit confused. He wasn't certainly the smartest in the group, and he often spaced out, but he was sure this time he was missing something big. Something that no one could know. Even if the younger boy had been acting strangely, and sometimes tended to exaggerate, intentionally looking for a fight seemed too much even for him.
«Are you drunk, Sehun?» he asked. There couldn't be any other explanation, to him.
«No, ge, I am not. I only took a soft drink. Besides, do I seem to you like someone who's drunk? I don't think so,» Sehun scoffed.
«But you must be drunk! It doesn't make sense, otherwise...» Lay started feeling some discomfort building up inside him. Why did that situation seem so odd?
«What doesn't make sense, Yixing-ge? That I was looking for a fight? A way to release everything I've bottled up inside? Does this really make no sense at all?»
Yixing widened his eyes even more, feeling the situation getting out of hand. What was the maknae talking about?
«Sehun, wh-what are you talking about?»
«What am I talking about?!» Sehun said with a bitter grin, directing his piercing gaze directly into Yixing's eyes. Then he sighed shaking his head, «Nothing, ge. Let's just drop it, ok? I won't do it again, I promise.»
The sudden change of behaviour only had the effect of worrying Lay more.
«It's not "nothing", Sehun. Why don't you just tell me what's wrong? Is this the reason why you've been acting so strange for months?»
«Why do you even care?» the voice of the maknae was increasingly becoming sharper and sharper like he was on the verge of exploding.
«What do you mean? Sehun, I'm your ge. You're my bandmate, my friend, I do care about you. A lot, if you haven't noticed.»
And that was when Sehun snapped. If Yixing had had a watch, he would have been probably able to say exactly at which second the younger boy had sprung up from his seat coming closer to him. The expression on his face, though, remained quite glacial.
«Yeah, like Luhan cared, like Tao cared, right? You'll all leave, in the end. Do you know how betrayed I felt? Luhan was probably my closest friend, we talked about everything. But he left. I'm not blaming him for his decision, though. He seems happy now. Still, he left me, who he swore he cared about more than himself.
And now Tao as well... He was the only one among all of you who could understand me completely; he comforted me so many times and most of them you all didn't know I was suffering. We shared every problem that was killing us from inside. He was the only one who had experienced most of the things I was going through. And now he's leaving us, and I will be alone again.»«Sehun, you're n-» Lay started, but the other interrupted him.
«And what about you, ge? The great Yixing, always away to film movies and programmes. I've barely seen you in the last month! If Suho-hyung hadn't told you about what I was doing, you probably wouldn't have noticed. That's not caring about someone, Lay,» Sehun said, underlining the stage name on purpose.
While speaking, the maknae had moved closer to the dancer, so that now they were only a few inches away from each other. Lay was completely taken aback by the fact that, despite his outburst, the younger boy seemed controlled. No word was shouted, and his facial features were emotionless.
