Feeling nothing but pain, I spent my childhood living a life I shouldn't . I used to live with my parents and baby sister in a small town called, Greenfield. Nobody liked us and I never understood why. Later on, my sweet loving parents were murdered. To this day I still don't know who would do such a thing.

I was only 12 years old and Lily was 1 year old when their death happened. We hid in our parent's closet until someone finally found us. My auntie, Lulu. She looked relieved when she saw us in the corner of the closet with clothes surrounding us making it seem like a pile of dirty clothes. After that day, she made it her goal to keep Lily and me away from everyone. So, we moved to a small cottage house deep in the forest away from danger. From the known.

But that doesn't stop my curiosity.

"Lily!" Shouts my aunt from the kitchen window pulling me out of my daydream, I look up to see Lily getting up and wiping the dirt off her new dress quickly and heads to the kitchen to where auntie was.

Auntie is a witch. To be more specific, she's a kitchen witch. She loved this house with all her heart. Our home was always surrounded by plants and beautiful purple flowers. But the thing about her is she's very protective, doesn't let us go outside at night, and never tells us about the outside world and lately, she's been acting weird. I wonder why.

My aunt faces her and crosses her arms and glares at the small child making me giggle, "How many times do I have to tell you not to wear your dresses outside, young lady?" Auntie Lulu scoffed at her and She just giggles, "I'm sorry auntie but the flowers are so pretty!" Lily says giving auntie Lulu her famous puppy look knowing she would forgive her quickly and...it worked. It always works.

"You're unbelievable sometimes," Auntie Lulu murmurs causing me to giggle more.
I sit at the dining table with a book and continue reading. Auntie follows right behind me. We sit there in silence until she looked up from her hands and sighs, "You're special, darling." She pats my head.

Special? Because I have my mom's power but I can't use them?

"You're just like your mother," she smiles, her blue eyes fill with sadness.

"She's inside you! She gave you her amazing ability, so always keep your head up, okay?" She continues patting my head like a dog.

She knew I was upset because I wasn't like mom or Lily. I don't have powers like them. Growing up, my aunt tried and tried to reveal my power but she realized nothing worked . She tried everything and I couldn't help but feel disappointed in myself. It frustrates me how much she believes it's inside me but I guess I'm not ready.

"Yes auntie.." I sigh.

Ha..

I'm useless

I can't protect Lily.

I'm nothing like my mother.

I feel the anger build up.
