Hazel's POV

"I have just the bouquet you need!", I tell the customer standing behind me, and quickly rush to another shelf and pick out the chrysanthemum bouquet that was newly placed on the shelf.

"Here you go, sir. This would be the best to give to your wife since chrysanthemums represent love and loyalty", I say as I hand the customer the beautiful bouquet.

"Thank you, and I'll make sure to remember that explanation", the customer tells me joyfully.

It always puts a smile on my face when a customer appreciates the explanation that I give them. I absolutely love working in my mom's flower shop and I took it a step further when I actually researched and learnt what all the plants and flowers symbolise.

Though working at the shop can be hectic at times, I also love the peacefulness and calmness that it brings me. Something about being among all the beautiful plants and flowers always make me feel at home.

"Have a great day!", I call out as the customer leaves the shop after I finish billing them.

I slump back into the chair that's behind the billing counter, and resume my work of making more bouquets. We have a big order for about 20 bouquets, and since thankfully my mom already finished making more than half of them, I only have about 4 left to make.

Just as I get to work, my phone dings with a text message from none other than my brother, Percy. He always checks up on me when I'm at the shop by myself and I love him for it.

Though I was adopted by Percy's family, I have never felt out of place or like I didn't belong. They took me in as their own and I will always be grateful for them.

As I put my phone down, the shop's bell rings, to alert me that a new customer is here. I put my phone and all the bouquet materials away, and stand up to greet the customer.

"Hi! Welcome to Blossom, how can I help you?", I say the standard greeting that I've memorised, without looking at who's there since I'm more focused on carefully putting away the new bouquet I made.

And when I turn around to finally look at the customer, I'm immediately blown away. Standing before me is a tall guy with slightly shorter hair, who's in a full formal suit.

But what caught my attention first was the big red stain on the forefront of his formal white shirt.

"Do you have any like uh...bridal bouquet?", he asks, sounding very unsure, but I nod at him and lead him to the shelf with the bridal bouquets nonetheless.

"We have many varieties and options to choose from, which one would you like?", I ask and turn to look at him, only to see him looking very clueless. I found it cute for some reason.

I decide to make it easier on him by recommending one myself.

"I would suggest either the round or the nosegay bouquet', I say picking out both so that he can see it better and continue, "Since these two are the most commonly used in weddings".

"I'll...go with the round one then. Thank you so much for helping me out", he adds after he tells me which bouquet he wants.

"It's no problem, I like recommending and explaining about all the flowers and bouquets", I mindlessly tell him and realise a little too late, but when I look at him, he has a soft smile on his face.

"Maybe you could teach me about the flowers and bouquets sometime later?", he asks hesitantly, and I instantly feel my eyes widen.

Me teaching him?! I felt excitement build up inside of me at the thought.

"Unless you don't want to, which is completely fine", he quickly adds and takes the bouquet from me when I finish billing it.

"No! I mean, I'd like that", I tell him with a smile as he's about to leave, and he smiles widely.

"My name's Frank by the way", he says with the smile still on his face.

"I'm Hazel", I tell him and I watch his lips twitch and grow into an even wider smile if it was possible.

"That's a really pretty name, and-", he's cut off from his sentence when his phone dings, he looks at it and then back at me but his smile is replaced with an apologetic expression.

"I'm sorry, I need to go now, but I'll definitely come by again", he tells me and I nod.

We tell our goodbyes, and as I watch him leave, I can't help the feeling of excitement that's still there inside me.

I guess I did make a good choice of coming to the flower shop today after all.
