"you're on in three minutes," the backstage runner hollers at the boys. "you're gonna rock it." matty smiles at him. "have we ever not rocked it?"I head out into the audience, immediately greeted by obnoxious teens screaming and crying over their favorite band. "excuse me, sorry, pardon me, sorry love," I yell over them, nudging through to my section in the front. "Kelly!" I scream, bumping into her. "AYYYYYYYYYEEEEE YOU MAAAAAAADE IT BACKKKKKKKK" she slurs. drunk. fucking lovely. "shhh, the show's about to start."
The first intro song rings through the speakers all down the arena. "hello everyone," matty says into his mic, smiling wildly. "we're the 1975, thanks for coming out, have a good time okay?" the crowd roars in response. "great, good." hann walks to the guitar rack and grabs his usual black/tan electric, Ross with his yellow bass, and matty picking up his light blue guitar. the city. "don't call it a fight when you know it's a war," they begin. "with nothin but your T-shirt on." it seems as if everyone in the world is singing along. I'm so proud of them

so far, they've played the city, antichrist, settle down, talk! (my personal favorite) me, and robbers. sex, girls, and chocolate, along with a few intros and tidbits, are still to come. "and this is how it starts," matty slurs, he's drunk by now. "take your shoes off in the back of my van, you said my shirt looks so good when it's just hangin off your back" every girl in the stadium is screaming or doing something sexual. the girl two rows back is screaming "fuck me" non stop, and a group of teens next to me proceed to throw bras at the stage. "she said use your hands in my spare time, she's got one thing covered it's this tongue of mine she said oh. she's got a boyfriend any-HEY!"and everything goes dark.
