When Powers Collide

Chapter 9- New Powers

Y/N's POV

It was a typical night at the compound, most of the team was gathered around the dining room table, eating dinner as I was sat next to Wanda, we really hadn't left each other's side since I had returned to the team, I was still adjusting to everything again between her and Nat, I was never alone. I could feel Tony staring at me from across the table, his furrowed brow as he studied my every move, the unsettling feeling as I shifted in the chair as Wanda could sense how uncomfortable I was.

"You ok over there y/n?" he asked as his head slightly tilted waiting for my answer as I nodded, "so when were you going to tell us about your new powers?" his voice was calm, he wasn't angry but more intrigued.

"I um, it really isn't anything special Tony, just my eyes glow red now kind of like Wanda's, and well I can generate a small flame with my hand but when I was messing around other day the small flame kind of generated into more of a fireball that engulfed my arm so I focused more and channeled all my energy it ended up like a big fireball phoenix thing it is hard to describe" my voice trailed as they all looked at me as if I had two heads as my eyes shift to the ground as Wanda gently nudged me I met her gaze with a soft smile, she could always get through to me no matter my mood.

"Well, all of a sudden these red little wisps seem like nothing" she playfully said as a small red ball danced across her fingers as she smiled at me.

"Looks like we have a secret weapon now Tony" Steve said before being cut off by Nat, her protective side was at a new high since I had returned.

"Really Steve we don't know how powerful they are yet, and you already want to send them out into the world not knowing what they are truly capable of" her voice stung a little, like I could hurt someone, I shifted in my chair as Wanda's hand interlocked with mine under the table, through this she had been so supportive and patient with me, without her I was afraid of what I could do or where I would even be.

"Come on Nat I will be fine besides now Wanda and I can truly be a power couple" I shot her a smirk as I looked at Wanda as she freely said not missing a beat "that sounds kind of hot actually" the slight lip bite at the end sent my body into chills, she knew exactly how to drive me crazy by doing the simplest things, her hand had started to trail down my leg as I ran my tongue along my bottom lip trying to hide what my mind was thinking.

"Easy there fireball we need to see how strong you really are you might even take the top spot" his eyes shot at Steve as he nervously laughed hiding the fear that he might lose top spot, "come on Tony I am the first Avenger I will always be top spot" his voice was laced with panic and even worry as he leaned against the table and shot me a look, if Steve had been scary I might have been worried but he was a gentle giant, who could never hurt or intimidate someone it just wasn't in his character.

"Well maybe not for long Rogers" Nat laughed as she shot him a cheek smile, everyone knew they were hiding their feelings for one another but for some reason every jab she gave him he let slide unlike anyone else, he had a soft spot for her as she did for him, before I had come, he was all she had, but with me being back around I sensed they had drifted some, which I hated coming between them.

"Um guys, why do I feel like I am just a kid in a Halloween costume running around..oh God am I the weakest Avenger now?" Peter's voice squeaked as he looked around the room trying to find reassurance from someone, but everyone was trying to keep their laughs hidden by his reaction, his face was full of worry and even doubt, the innocence he still had was comical all on its own.

"Don't worry kid the weakest is still Clint; we could give you a nerf gun if it makes you feel better" Nat barely got out the words before she busted with laughter as Peter sulked away as everyone started laughing as her and Wanda looked at me as I was slightly puzzled, I shook it off as I walked to the kitchen as I went to clean my plate as Wanda stood in doorway, "so how about we go test those powers babe, I will be sure to go easy on you" she winked at me as her face lit up trying to hide a slight laugh.

"You sure about that babe? I mean I don't want to embarrass you love" I shot a wink back at her as she shot me a look as my challenge had been accepted, "oh you think you are cute, don't you? Gear up then angel" her accent was in full force as she spun around and headed towards the training room.

"Oh, this I have to see" Nat uttered full of excitement as she quickly followed Wanda, "hey Stark! You might want to turn on the safety protocols in the training room!" Cap shouted as he sat in main room as Stark shouted back "you guys seriously can't behave for 5 minutes can you!" their voices echoed down the hall as Wanda and I stood in training room, while Nat, and Steve all stood on other side of the glass watching us, both of us secretly knew they were betting to see who would win, Wanda was powerful she always had been but with my new powers I wondered if I was finally as powerful as she was or maybe even more, I stood there as I took a deep breath as my hands started to glow blue sending small volts along my finger tips and arms, I wasn't aware of all the powers I had, the blue volts were new, but I could figure that out later, during this training I was sticking with what I knew or atleast sort of knew.

"You ready baby? Give me your best shot love no holding back" I shot her a smile as I quickly channeled all my energy as my whole body engulfed in flames, my eyes glowing red as fireballs danced from my hands, Wanda's eyes started to glow red as the red power generating from her hands grew, I didn't know how powerful I was so I already knew I had to dial it back so I didn't hurt her.

"Um Tony...you might want to come see this and arm the fire protocols will you!" Steve shouted as him and Nat looked at each other, my powers were new to the team, everyone had their strong suit but right now I was a walking fireball, that no one knew what exactly I could do. As I generated small fireballs Wanda started firing red wisps towards me as the fire around me engulfed them, it was almost acting as a force field around me that nothing could get in, as I focused my energy, I started to float above her, fire filling the space between us as I tried to dial it back, her eyes were now an intense red as the red wisps were now twice the size they usually were as she tried to hit me again but yet failed, whatever my powers were I liked them.

"Well that's new" Tony said puzzled as he went to his laptop and started typing away, I knew he was going to be testing my powers and running test but right now I was having fun, it wasn't about the powers it was just about being in the moment and being able to be myself even if I was a human torch. Wanda started to throw bigger balls of red energy towards me as Nat walked in room as she grabbed her batons "easy Maximoff remember who you are fighting" Nat spoke seriously as her protective side had surfaced yet again, Wanda's eyes returned to normal as I slowly began to return to normal too, as I smiled at Wanda then Nat, "easy killer we are just playing she wouldn't hurt me would you princess?" I slowly walked over to her as I wrapped my arm around her "never in a million years angel" her face light up as I slowly kissed as we melted into each other briefly as Nat broke the moment.

"God you two are no fun I guess I will just train by myself" her voice was sarcastic as she spun around, in actuality Nat had always trained alone, she only ever trained you if she liked you, she walked away as I had my arm around Wanda "come on Nat don't be jealous I am now the talented one, I still love you though" I sarcastically said as I was greeted by her flipping me off as she walked into locker room to get changed as Wanda and I couldn't help but laugh as we walked towards main room, "how about movie marathon babe?" I asked already knowing the answer as Wanda lit up and nodded as we jumped on couch, it wasn't long before we were cuddled up with each other half way through old comedy movies, which were her favorite, these moments with her were the ones I cherished the most and I wouldn't trade them for anything, I knew then that if everyday was like this with her just being us, I knew I could finally imagine a world of happiness as I looked down at her curled into my chest her breathing in sync with my heartbeat as I covered her up and watched her sleep, "sweet dreams my love."
