I used the key that mother had dropped and unlocked myself I knew mother never ever locked the basement door as she believed that i would never get out of my cell  i waited until mother and father went to bed  and the servents  went home  once i saw the coast was clear i took some money out of  fathers wallet and i went into mother room.

I walked super quietly so i didn't  wake them up i then took some of mothers jewellery  i went to my room taking out a small bag i packed the veil and long black dress and i put all of  mothers jewellery and fathers money into it i also packed my great  grandmother locket and some make up and i climbed out of the window.

I changed into the dress and the veil  and wore my grandmother locket before making my way to the ship yard   i watched peopl closely they gave money to a man behind a small window  and he gave them a paper i went next  and the man  said

Man-"yes ma'am where do you want  a ticket to"

Clarissa-"i am sorry but what is a ticket  and what does it do"

Man-"Ma'am you must be new  here well a ticket is like a pass you give me money and i give you this pass so you can take a ship out of here"

Clarissa thought about it and remembered that she left her parents home to be free and independent she asked the man to make her ticket  very far she paid him 80 dollars and she boarded the ship  she got a comfortable room and just waited for the midnight clock chime and she wished herself a happy birthday.

Clarissa then fell asleep by the lulling of the  waves and  she  slept very  deeply only to be woken up by people yelling that the ship was sinking  people pushed each other just so that they could get into the life boats.

one man pushed  clarissa hard  making her fall to the ground where she found a ad for a live in cleaner on a island that she had never heard of but she decided to go  anyway  thats if she survived this sinking ship but luckly for her a man who wore gloves and a long coat  with a hat on.

He  had approached her  and he told her that he knew where the island was  clarissa thanked him but as she did  she noticed  that  the man was  trying to see her face but due to her thick veil he could not see it.

Clarissa then  jumped into his boat and he started the motor  clarissa held onto  her bag  tightly taking out notes  to pay him but he refused he told her he worked for the royal family on the island  and he was taught not to take money off a person of  employement especially if she was a woman as the royal family reapected  young girls and women and believed that they are like gifts from heaven.

clarissa was falling in love with this island just by hearing its description and itbmade her long to see it clarissa asked the boat man why the island wasn't on a map  he explained that years ago this islands dwellers hated how  the island was on maps because the.people and tourist came to there island and almost destroyed it so.they complained to the royals whom had the leaders remove the island from maps.

Clarissa understood about why the island  dwellers wanted privacy andvwanted to  protect there island  clarissa smiled emjoying the sea breeze ruffling her  veil the boat driver then asked her why she wore a veil  clarissa lied and told him that her  skin was toi sensitive to the sun he nodded then  theybcarried on boating in silence
