"She's been like this the whole time?"
"Since she came over on Wednesday. She was nearly catatonic...she won't tell me what happened, but I got the gist of it. She told Normani the truth, probably everything. She was only ever like this once before and that was when Maia broke her heart."
"Mani's nearly the same way. She showed up to school on Thursday, but she was so quiet. She wouldn't talk to me or Z or Ally. She just kept mumbling about how she and Camila weren't together anymore."
It was Friday night, and Lauren had called Dinah Jane over to assist her with watching over Camila. Lauren hadn't been sure what to do. She had never seen her best friend so heartbroken before. Camila had refused to talk to her, or eat, or sleep. She had sat in Lauren's guest room, with the door locked, and the only signal that Lauren had gained that Camila had even been alive still had been an occasional thud or crash, followed by a loud "fuck" which indicated to Lauren that she would definitely not be getting her security deposit on the apartment back.
"I feel awful," Lauren frowned as she glanced over at Dinah, who was currently sitting beside her on her couch, "I told Camila to tell Normani, and because of me they're broken up."
"Normani deserved to know the truth," Dinah argued. Lauren, Zayn, and Shawn had told Zendaya, Dinah, and Ally everything around the same time Camila had told Normani. The three other cheerleaders weren't nearly as torn up about it all because they weren't emotionally invested into Camila like Normani had been, "She'll come around once she realizes that Camila is basically harmless."
Lauren frowned as she ran a hand through her hair, "What if she doesn't realize it until it's too late? Camila...she's not the same girl she used to be. She'll do this. She'll throw a fit, she'll shut herself down, and then she'll go back to being her old self. She doesn't do well with emotional pain."
"Then we just have to make sure she doesn't shut down completely," Dinah offered, "Me and the girls will try and get through to Normani. You and the guys just have to keep Camila from doing anything stupid."
"Easier said than done," Lauren snorted in amusement, "Camila's middle name is stupid."
Dinah rolled her eyes playfully, "I have faith in you, Lo. Just get Camila together. The girls and I will take care of the rest," Dinah said as she slowly rose to her feet.
"Okay," Lauren nodded.
Dinah nodded once before she showed herself out of Lauren's apartment, making her way towards the elevator that would take her downstairs and to the exit. Dinah pulled out her cellphone to call Zendaya and see how she and Ally were doing with Normani.
"Whatsgood, bitch," Zendaya answered immediately, and Dinah had to resist the urge to roll her eyes.
"How's Mani doing?"
"Same as before," Zendaya sighed, "Ally's currently with her trying to get her to talk to us."
"Any luck?" Dinah questioned as she walked outside to her car, climbing in and starting it up to drive off towards Normani's house.
"Not at all," Zendaya huffed, "The girl is more stubborn than anyone I know. She still feels like she did the right thing by ending things with Camila even though Ally and I both tried to tell her she was wrong. Speaking of Camila, how is the Cuban goddess?"
"No better than Normani," Dinah frowned as she kept her eyes on the road, "According to Lauren, Camila hasn't eaten or slept since the day she told Normani everything."
"That can't be healthy..."
"You're telling me," Dinah sighed as she reached a hand up to run it through her hair, "Lauren's afraid that Camila's gonna regress. Turn back into her old self."
