Entry 3: Reading Lists and Wattpad in General

So last time I talked about bots, but this time....lemme just tell you that Wattpad is really frickin' weird sometimes.

Starting with reading lists. Now I know that a story can have 200 chapters and I think the same goes for how many stories in reading lists you could have. As for reading lists themselves, I don't know, but I'm assuming the maximum amount of reading lists a user can have would be 200.

Sometimes Wattpad will take away your reading lists but it will always give it back.

Well....okay. Not all the time.

One time a few years back, Wattpad deleted my Pokemon reading list. I thought I would get it back, but I didn't, so I had to remake the entire thing from scratch.

Now it doesn't know what to do with my first reading list. Sometimes Wattpad will take away a few reading lists you might have but it will always give them back at some point, mostly in the same day. But as for my first reading list like I was talking about, Wattpad just doesn't know what to do with it.

It keeps taking it away and bringing it back, taking it away, bringing it back, and repeat.

Bruh just let me keep it.

And this has been happening since April.

Edit: I think Wattpad has finally stopped taking it away from me.

Speaking of which, sometimes your story will get catagorized into a reading list with a wrong/confusing genre. Your story might also occasionally get put into multiple reading lists by the same person.

Some stories might also get judged before it's read. Let's say you've written a story that you think isn't weird. Someone might end up putting it into a list of theirs titled "Weird" or something like that anyway.

There have even been times where my stories have been put into a yaoi (guy x guy) reading list when the stories themselves would have NO yaoi in it. Sometimes a story of mine might also be put in a reading list with tons of yaoi stories but not exactly a yaoi reading list itself. If you like yaoi, don't read my stories, and the same goes for yuri, which means girl x girl.

There might also be times where your story could be added into a reading list with, for the sake of this matter, horror stories. Let's say your story was an adventure story. There might be other stories in that list with some other genres but the list itself might have a buncha horror stories.

And now for some other weird things about Wattpad!

So there have been times where Wattpad doesn't give you notifications. There was a time where Wattpad would delay any votes or comments you could get on a story, meaning sometimes you could get these notifications the next day.

I still remember this one time where one of my old friends updated something for me in one of her stories. I didn't get the notification until about two or three hours later.

Also, you could be working on a story and you can get a message from a friend while working on the story, but Wattpad doesn't always give you the notification. After you finish editing the story, you can go to your messages and see an unread message from your friend and see how long it had been sitting there for, but maybe that also depends on whatever device you're using for Wattpad.

There have also been times where Wattpad could give you someone else's story. I don't know if this still happens, but it's happened to me before and it's where you'll log in and see that you're editing a story that isn't even yours, but Wattpad will quickly fix this.

There was also a time where Wattpad would take away a story of yours but bring it back. There are also times where your story chapter will have to go under mutliple revisions.

Oh, and Wattpad would also sometimes delete accounts without warning. I have a friend who's had to remake her account at least twice because Wattpad would just randomly delete her accounts.

I still remember a oneshot she was making for me. She had worked on the oneshot, but she didn't have much written and I don't think there were even that many words. I can't be sure since she never got the chance to message me, but I remember at some point she got motivated to write more of it. I remember she told me she took a break and logged out, and when she tried to log in to write more, guess what?

Wattpad had deleted her account so she had to make a new one. Oh, and one time Wattpad deleted one of her accounts on my birthday, but I don't remember if it was the account I was just telling you about or not.

Thanks for the birthday present, Wattpad. -_-

I don't know if Wattpad still deletes accounts, though I remember there was this one time where Wattpad was supposedly deleting any works that had a lot of sexual content (and I think accounts), but I think that was just a rumor. I don't actually know if it was true or not since a ton of sexual stories are still up.

And now there's message boards.

So if you're new to Wattpad or not, I'm sure you've gotten a few announcements here and there, right?

Well, sometimes Wattpad won't give you all the announcements. You could click on a friend's profile, see your friend's conversations, and see a new announcement that you never saw in your notifications.

You don't have to read the announcements, but I would at least recommend reading any announcements that are from friends.

And even if you're not friends with a person, there might be times where people you hardly know will respond to your announcements. I guess it's some sort of "I'm gonna be nice to this person" phase since I did that once for a short while.

And speaking of which, I really do try to read all of the announcements I get-unless I can't understand it or I didn't see it like I already talked about-even if it's not from a friend. I don't reply a lot of the time for three reasons:

1. Either I'm not friends with the person (but sometimes I still reply even if I'm not friends with the person).

2. Wattpad didn't give me the notification.

3. Or three, which is I just don't know how to respond.

This reminds me of a time where I had a follower who blatantly said she didn't care about people's announcements, but I guess it was more like she was screaming it.

I wonder if she at least cares about her friend's announcements now if she has any on here. That'd be cool.

At the time (and no, we weren't friends and never even typed a word to each other) I was dealing with something in the family and I talked about it a lot on my message board. I wondered if it annoyed her...

No, I wasn't trying to annoy anyone. I guess I just wanted someone to tell me that everything was gonna be OK. A lot of my friends actually seemed to ignore whatever I would post on my board as well. Maybe they just didn't see it, but some of my friends have actually told me they ignore announcements they get.

I'm gonna stop right there because I don't want to rant, and I'm done with this entry anyway.

See you next time.
