My Turn (4.): To Love & Die.

I felt my eyes open slowly as I smelled the air of sadness and hospital food. My face scrunched up in disgust when I looked around the room and saw the plain white walls and the muted television playing reruns of Family Feud. I was in the hospital and I sadly knew why, too. The one-sided fight between Sebastian and I had gotten completely out of hand.

I turned my head to the side but immediately regretted it for it caused a searing pain that shot to the backs of my eyes. I groaned outwardly and loud, deep footsteps were made until light brown eyes met mine.

It was King. What was he doing here? Why is he -of all people- sitting up here waiting for me to awaken? "How are you feeling?" he asked quietly.

"Alive," I groggily replied. "could be worse."

"Do you remember what happened?"

"Mhm." I hummed.

"It was Bash, wasn't it?"

"Yeah." my throat got even drier as tears brimmed my eyes.

"I don't wanna say 'I told you so',-"

"Then don't."

"But this is the kind of shit I was warning you about, Lisha! He can't be trusted."

Oh, like you can, I wanted to say, like you aren't a creepy freak- even though you're right.

He took my silence and decided that the topic of conversation was "touchy" so he peeked outside the room and then held the door open. In came Daddy, Michael, and Chris.

I quickly got excited but the feeling left as fast as it came when more pain shot to my head. "Ouch." I moaned out loud.

Chris was the first to come to the bed I was in. He sat in the chair in front of it and gently held my hand that was closest to him. "Hey, ma." he mumbled. "You don't look too good."

"Gee thanks."

He gave a light chuckle then looked at me. "We miss you."

"I miss y'all, too." I started to say before my eyes welled with even more tears than before. "I wanna come home."

He gave a bright smile, and laughed before saying, "Guess where you are?"

I shrugged.

He shook his head before pointing at the door. There sat all my pink polka-dotted suitcases I carried with me when I left. I began to grin because I absolutely hated living with August and Sebastian.

Daddy and Michael walked up to the bed. Michael kissed my forehead and Daddy kissed my cheek. "Hey, princess." Daddy said. "You miss me?"

"Yeah! It was torture there." I started to think about the decent things that happened there, but then I noticed something. "Where's Sebastian?"

"The psych ward. After what he did to you, he's gonna be chillin' there for a while."

"Really?" I said with a small smile. "Where's August?"

Michael rolled his eyes. "I know where he should be."

"Where?"

"Hell."

"Ty!" Chris laughed, "Savage ass."

"He needa take his extra scrawny anorexic lookin' ass on down there," we all we in hysterics. "y'all laughin' now, ain't gonna be funny 'til Trell, Nino, Chris, and I go back to 2009 and glock that nigga."

"Why can't I come?" Daddy asked.

"'Cause you a bitch, man!" Chris exclaimed. "You fainted that time one of your backup dancers cut her leg on a table."

"She was bleeding!"

"Oh, please. Nigga you couldn't even see it!"

King walked back in and sat next to me on the hospital bed. I noticed that his clothing reeked of cigar smoke and his hair was slightly disheveled, but I don't think he really cared.

He leaned his back against the chipping paint on the wall and his hand crept next to mine before lacing his fingers in it.

I couldn't focus on the conversation at hand because there were sparks shooting from his fingertips and into my palm.

"No, don't listen to him. He needs a lot of Jesus."

As if on queue, Dad bolted into the room. "Shut the hell up, I have Jesus, thank you."

"Shall I quote 'Love Faces'?"

"If I can interrupt," Bryshere said, "she has it right here in her 'Favorite Music' playlist."

Daddy snatched my phone from his hand. "Lemme see what kind of music you got up here." He scrolled and scrolled, and then stared at me. "How in the good God damn did you manage to buy all my sexual songs? I've got other songs, too."

"I know."

"So...where are they?"

"In the store."

"Why aren't they on your phone?"

"Because I was given a $25 limit, and I wasn't going to waste $13 on a whole album when I only know three songs and could just buy those."

"Aw," he smiled. "my daughter is smart."

"Yeah, I'm smart! Why wouldn't I be?"

"'Cause you special." he laughed, and I was about to thank him, but then he said, "Like short bus riding, helmet wearing type special."

Bad way to end a chapter but hey, she's back with her family. What'd y'all think? King? Was he right? What about Bryshere/Yazz/Hakeem (or whatever you wanna call Big Daddy)? You think he's suspicious? Michael? Trey? Chris? Should I bring Sebastian back later in the book?
Just so y'all know, my mom says i'm that kind of special literally every two days, lol. So I did some thinking, and I did YET ANOTHER character change for Sebastian. As of right now, Sebastian is Jussie Smollett, or Jamal from Empire. If you haven't seen the show, (which you should) a picture of him is found in the previous chapter.
Big Daddy/Bryshere/Hakeem/Yazz is in the MM. Him freestyling is also in the MM. Lemme tell y'all, when he raps.. whoo. *drinks Hennessy for my thirst* y'all look him up on youtube at YazzTheGreatest. or just type Hakeem Lyon in, and just listen to Drip Drop on a continuous loop, same difference.
