Seulgi x Irene (Right Where You Left Me by Taylor Swift)

Seulgi heard the news from her friends that Jongdae and his girlfriend, Wendy separated. She also heard that her friends, Yeri and Kai are getting married in a month. Friends break up and friends get married indeed.

She looked around. She smiled at the newborn baby in front of her. She noticed the baby wore something, quite, millennial-ish. It's probably the new trend, she thought.

She opened her journal and glanced at the window.

She's at a restaurant. Where affordable but delicious food was served, where all kinds of rumors flew from different strangers to another, and where treasured memories, both sad and happy, were kept.

It was quiet that day, everyone could hear her hair pin drop.

"I received my monthly salary last week," She wrote in her journal.

She looked around again and everybody's happy.

She wrote, "Everybody is happy here. I'm sure all of them went through something, I'm happy they moved on from it."

She sighed.

Everybody moved on. She did not.

She's still at the restaurant. Where she left her.

She flipped through the pages of her journal and stopped at the entry she made 5 days ago.

"Dear Journal,

I saw Irene today. Yeah, the Irene who left me in this same old restaurant 6 years ago. It took me a while to notice that it was her sitting at the table in front of mine. She looks different, a good kind of different. She looks prettier than ever, much more prettier than the day she left me. She said hi to me. It was as if the moment stopped. It was quiet, and I'm sure, no, I swear that anyone could hear my hair pin drop. At that moment, the sad sight everyone witnessed at the same place when she told me she met someone, didn't seem like a sad sight to me anymore. Seeing her happy, years after the 'sad sight' everyone witnessed, isn't a sad sight anymore. At least she's happy now. Seeing her happy because of the sad sight, is a happy sight to me."

Time went on for everybody, they were 23 six years ago, now they're both 29, but for Seulgi, she was still 23. The 23 year old Seulgi who went to the restaurant almost everyday, whenever she had time. The 23 year old Seulgi, who lost herself waiting for her.

But everybody's living in reality.

She's still there, going back to the same restaurant, always sitting at the dim corner, still trying to find perspective. While Irene is now married to a man named Minseok, with a child.

She had no choice, but to stay there forever.
