Despite everything that had happened the night before Wei Ying found himself waking up feeling refreshed. He wanted to giggle when he found himself in a rather awkward position on the bed while almost all the pillows had been kicked on the floor and he was tangled up in the blankets while also being burrowed under them trying to avoid the sun as much as possible. He slowly opened his eyes knowing he had more than likely been allowed to sleep for a while due to still needing to recover and after he had untangling himself from the blankets he stretched getting the kinks out of his muscles and joints.
After he felt like he no longer felt stiff from the awkward position he froze in the middle of looking around the room when his eyes landed on what he could only think was a phoenix sitting upon the window sill looking at him with curiosity its head tilted. He had been trying to get his bearings and get to know the room having been too overwhelmed the night before to fully appreciate the room, now he couldn't look away from the stunning bird as it stared right back at him.
He jumped when suddenly the bird shrieked after a while of silence then with a blur of bright reds, oranges, purples and a mirid of other colors it flew into the room. He didn't have time to respond let alone move out of the way not knowing what it was planning, before it was suddenly alighting to his shoulder holding onto his shoulder without hurting him due to his shoulder being exposed as his sleeping robe slipped during the night.
He looked at the Phoenix in confusion which stared right back at him then with a strained grimace he mentioned, "I think you may have confused me with someone else...perhaps you are looking for the Jade emperor?" Wei Ying questioned which had the phoenix shaking its head before looking at him pointedly, "Well it can't be me I am not an immortal and I don't think I am powerful enough for you to be my companion."
The phoenix seemed to glare at him before looking disgruntled and turned away as if refusing at that point to look at him but also refused to leave his shoulder. He sat there blinking at the phoenix not sure what had just occurred then shrugging he said, "Suit yourself but don't say I didn't warn you."
The phoenix looked back at him giving him another pointed look at if to say, 'Did you think I wasn't going to anyway?' that of course had him grinning not knowing how he could read the look the phoenix had so well, "Yeah, Yeah your right you're a divine beast..." in the middle of his sentence the phoenix squawked indignantly at him which quickly had him changing his words, "Forgive me Devine creature..." the phoenix seemed to preen at his words then nodded telling him to continue which had him wanting to roll his eyes but he resisted the urge, "Not that I can tell you what you can and can't do...not that I can pretend to understand your reason for choosing me it is your choice."
The phoenix nodded then Wei Ying froze when the phoenix rubbed his cheek against his trilling softly then a very soft voice filled his head but only one word as if it was all he could say 'Fenghuang,' Wei Ying looked at him his head tilted wondering what that was then it clicked and a brilliant grin split his features as he said in excitement, "Oh...Oh...Oh that's your name isn't it?"
The phoenix nodded his head glad that he understood before he flew off his shoulder and perched on the headboard of the bed, after giving him a pointed look as if to say, 'I will return back to your shoulder.' Wei Ying looked at him in confusion only to suddenly be hit by something and he scrambled out of the bed squeaking upon his feet hitting the cold floor and scrambled into the washroom.
When Wei Ying returned to the room he froze in the doorway in confusion upon seeing Fenghuang standing on the edge of the bed feathers puffed out and wings spread while it looked at the door leading into the room. Slowly Wei Ying looked in the direction knowing somehow he was being defensive then he burst into giggles upon seeing Daode standing frozen in place in the doorway holding a set of cloths in his arms while eyeing the now hissing phoenix.
