As the evening sun's light flickered down on the park, most visitors were packing up their things and leaving. Everyone, except for a few. A girl with dark hair was leaning against a tree, and expecting someone.

'It's getting dark. Where are you?' She texts.

'That's the point. I'll be there soon.'

'You better be. Today's special.'

'You always say that.'

'And you always say that you're coming.'

'Touché.'

'But still, you know how I feel about going to your little gatherings.'

'I know. That's why it's only going to be the four of us.'

'Four?'

'I want you to meet a friend of mine. They're pretty cool. And before you run off like you always do, you promised me that you'd come this time.

'Don't keep us waiting.'

She puts down her phone with a sigh. 'He better come. He's gotta come out of his shell eventually' the girl thinks to herself. Before she can do anything else, she hears a mechanical voice call out to her.

"Hello there!"

Looking up, she sees a robot wearing basketball gear.

"You must be Carol. Nice to finally meet you!"

She smiles. "And you must be Hex. Nice to meet you, too."

The robot smiles.

"Whitty told me that you'd be here. Speaking of Whitty, where is he?"

Carol's smile fades.

"He told me that he was coming this time, but I wouldn't be surprised if he flakes out. Again."

Unlike Carol, Hex seems to be in a good mood.

"Well, it isn't time yet. He can still make it."

Behind Hex, Carol saw someone else sitting on a bench. Their hair is slightly-frazzled, but otherwise kept, and a dark green blanket was wrapped around them.

"Sunday! I'm so glad you could make it!"

Rushing over, Carol quickly embraces her housemate.

"Of course I *yawn* made it." Sunday responds.

"I wouldn't want to miss the chance to meet your new bo-"

They quickly pause what they were going to say.

"-friend. Your new friend."

Carol looks away, but to be fair, Sunday might have a point. Well, that's what she thought to herself as she sat down on the bench.

She was hanging out with Whitty a lot more often than she did when they were still 'strangers', but were they a couple? They haven't done any...couple things, so they couldn't be.
