Whitty quickly catches up to Carol.

"So, what do you mean 'firewor-"

He was interrupted by a loud shout.

"What was that?"

"Sunday might look half-asleep all of the time, but when it comes to rapping, they can get pretty intense." Carol responds. Whitty can't help but chuckle.

"And I wasn't lying earlier. I didn't invite BF, but I felt like leaving him with Sunday would be the best for him. After all, he's the 'undefeatable rapper', yes?"

She smirks.

"Might as well give him a challenge, eh?"

"Guess so. Well, when we first met, there's a reason why he didn't rap for a while afterwards." Whitty responds with a soft laugh.

"I didn't know that you could rap."

"I'm not the best, but I used to do it a lot."

"Why'd you stop?" Almost instantly, Carol knew that she shouldn't of asked that. Looking at Whitty, he wore a blank expression, and didn't look at her.

"It's....complicated. Don't really want to talk about it."

"And that's fine." Carol steps in front of Whitty.

"I just- don't feel like I thanked you enough. Like, seriously. I should of been more considerate, and now you gotta hide."

Whitty smiles.

"I'm glad that you're not hurt. And don't worry. We're friends, Carol. And friends look out for each other."

"Yeah. Friends."

Carol felt relieved for two reasons when she hears that.

He wasn't mad at her for choosing to follow him, and almost getting hurt or worse because of it, and Whitty didn't think that they were actually a couple, like the others said. Since the beginning, she always thought of themselves as a pair of good friends, but a small sliver of her mind would point out that they are indeed a couple, and that she should stop denying that.

'We're just friends, and that's it' wouldn't work anymore, so now that that thought has been put to rest, Carol felt a lot better. As they finally arrived back at the basketball court, BF and GF are gone, leaving Hex with Sunday.

"Hex! Oh- jeez. I'm so sorry for leaving you." Carol says, knowing that they had plans.

"It's fine!" Hex responds with a smile. "I was chatting with Sunday. Turns out they know a lot about basketball."

Sunday responds by slowly nodding, before returning to what they were doing before: staring into space.

A quick buzz makes Carol check her phone.

'Sorry for dipping out. BF got mad that he lost to Sunday, lol.'

'Lol. It's fine. Don't worry about it.'

As she was about to turn off her phone, she got a notification.

'WARNING! Two injured after suspected-mugging by a convenience store. Security footage shows two individuals being attacked by a hooded figure. Everyone in the area, proceed with caution.'

"Security footage? Shit. Knew that I shouldn't of let that guy go."

Whitty says, looking over Carol's shoulder. "Yeah. I gotta go." After a quick nod at Sunday and Hex, Whitty starts to run down the street.

"Wait!"

He freezes.

"What?"

"What if those guys manage to find me?" Carol asks, concerned.

Whitty smiles, before pulling out his own phone. "Then make sure to keep your battery charged." And with that, he was gone. Only another blur moving across the street under the moonlight.
