Sally lived in a house, a mansion of sorts, with her adopted father and his  50 servants. She felt alone, every second she was there, as if no-one understood her, not one other person in the world ever felt the same.

Her adopted father Nicholas was harshly cruel. His deceased wife Annabel had the idea of adopting a child, as she was unable to get pregnant. Nicholas went along with the idea, because he wanted a child. When Annabel mysteriously died and Nicholas went distant, so he resigned in taking his anger out on Sally. Nicholas yelled at her and locked her in an attic, he had cruel ways of punishing her for doing nothing. He worked long hours and came home tired, bothered and frustrated. He hated the sight of Sally and she new it.

Sally once tried running away. She was gone for two days, she ate all her food, and she couldn't find anyway to get the money she needed. Nicholas called the Sherif and reported a missing girl. The Sherif soon found her sitting on the sidewalk, shivering and damp. When Sally arrived home, she was severly punished. She was locked in the attic for three days without a single meal or drink of water. She got dehydrated and passed out.

One night, as usual Sally got locked up in the cold dusty attic, where many of Annabel's belongings were kept. Sally wanted to know more about her adopted mother, so she decided she would snoop around a little and get to see what her adopted mother was like. She looked around, peeped her petite head in and out of small places, she looked in books, shelves, and boxes but she found nothing that interested her. Untill she saw an old antique wardrobe right in the corner of the room.

She kept her eye on that wardrobe, afraid that the floor would open under it and steal it forever. A silver jewelry box was sitting limply on a wooden desk. Sally creeped over to it afraid a loud footstep would make Nicholas come up and take her out. She opened the lid slowly, "creeeeeek." Inside was a rusty gold key with a string chain connected to it. She took it from its home and placed the string around her neck and tucked the key inside her moth eaten sweater.

THOMP THOMP THOMP. It was Nicholas, he was coming, she ran over to the empty corner and plonked herself down. Just in time, because Nicholas banged open the door "Come down stairs for supper then straight to your chambers."  He boomed.

Sally followed Nicholas out of the door and shuting it behind her, "I'll be back to see what's inside you." Sally promised.

The next day brought more rain and thunder, it was 5:00 which meant in 10 minutes she would be put in the attic. Nicholas noticed that Sally was excited about going to the attic, he new something was up. "Alright Sally be gone with you." Sally walked up the attic stairs and opened the door, Nicholas followed and slammed the door shut and locked it shut.

"Finally," Sally whispered. She grabbed the key from under her sweater and removed it from around her neck. She put the key inside the keyhole and turned the key clockwise. She couldn't wait to see what was inside, clothes? Shoes? Secrets? She was about to find out exactly what.

Her face drooped when she opened the door. Flop. Out fell a girls lifeless decomposing body on to the ground. Her hands and feet were bound. Hair dark hair splattered with dark red blood. "Sally im coming in. You need to pack your things, you're moving." Nicholas shouted.

THOMP THOMP THOMP. He was coming upstairs. Sally grabbed a nearby chair and slammed it against the door. Hoping this would stop him from entering the attic. She was wrong. He unlocked the door, Sally hid under the dusty desk. Nicholas saw the body lying on the ground, "Sally! Where are you, you you ungrateful piece of..." his voice trailed off. Sally breathed heavily, her hand covering her mouth. "I know your in here." Nicholas steeped in front of the desk, he bent down to he floor, and slowly turned his head to Sally, "There you are.." His hand reached forward and touched Sally.

THE END.
