"What were you thinking?" Chrono scolded the young teen. "If someone would have seen you then what?! You planning on bringing us down with you?! Huh?!"
"No." Deku sheepishly mumbled.
"Speak up!"
Deku had enough of the yelling, right now all he cared about was if his mother was alive. He pushed himself out of the chair he was sitting in and tried his best to look the taller man in the eyes, "If I would have never been there then my mom would be dead! I know I disobeyed you but I'm glad I did! She's the only person who's ever cared about me and I'm not going to be sorry for trying to save her!"
"Watch your tone. You're on thin ice." Chrono warned coldly, placing his hand on top of Deku's head, lowering him back down from his tip toes that he was standing on. "Thanks to you, Overhaul is going to be pissed at me too for letting you out."
"I won't tell him that you let me go."
Chrono thought about it for a second but he didn't want lying to Overhaul to be something that Deku would continue to do in the future. "No. I had told him earlier tonight that I'd keep an eye on you. No point in cowering away."
The two were interrupted by footsteps stomping quickly into the room. They both knew who that had to be. "Is my mother oka-" Before Deku had even seen it coming, a cold, hard hand smacked him right across the face causing him to get knocked to the floor. This was the first time Overhaul had ever hit him seriously and with this much power. The other times were just in training, but this hit, this was Overhaul getting a point across.
"You're lucky I didn't decide to kill her." Deku looked up through the green hair that had fallen over his eyes, "You disobeyed me, Izuku." Overhaul paced circles around him like a hungry shark. A gasp got stuck in the poor boys throat when he felt the man grasp the back of his neck and force his face back onto the floor. Overhaul shifted his weight to where no matter how much Deku struggled, he wouldn't get up. "You know how easily I could break you, Izuku? All because you wanted to go out and play hero to protect your junkie mother."
Deku gritted his teeth, "She's not a junkie." He defended.
"Say that to the track marks."
This wasn't true. He had to be lying. Deku refused to believe it. "She's not a junkie." He repeated.
"I should kill you."
"What happened to you caring about me? Was that a lie?" Deku grunted at the forceful twisting of his neck that Overhaul was inflicting on him. "You never cared. You just wanted to use me."
"Smart boy. I gotta say, I'm a little sad that this charade didn't last as long as I had hoped for."
"You bastard!"
Overhaul leaned his head down closer to the boy, "What was that?" he snaked his arm under Deku's that was being held behind his back and gave it a nasty twist before popping it upwards until he heard a crack of the bones.
Deku grunted in pain and used his free hand to punch at the floor, "Shit! Fuck!"
"I don't wanna do this. But you need to learn your lesson." Overhaul reached around, grabbing Izuku's leg and snapping it in half with his quirk. Deku screamed in agony and curled into a ball when Overhaul finally got up off of him. He cried holding his broken leg as if that would somehow numb the pain. "You brought this upon yourself, Izuku." Overhaul dusted himself off and pulled his mask back into place. "Chrono, lets go. We'll leave Izuku here to think about his actions."
Chrono looked on at the sobbing boy, but Overhaul was right. Izuku brought this upon himself. "Chisaki."
Overhaul raised his eyebrow at his friend using his "real" name. "You were supposed to keep an eye on him."
