{Not Proofread}Everything hurt...body deserted in the snow a strangled cry rung through the air followed by small hiccups. Ice plunged your throat with each gasp and wheeze of air—the ground wasn't comfortable for someone who just dove head first from a cliff.
You'd rather die this way.
The thought of having your limbs torn from your body and blood drained as if it were delicate wine caused you to grimace—but you'd rather die this way, slow and painful—not wanting to give whatever was chasing you the satisfaction of seeing the pure terror etched across your features.
You were stubborn that way, so stubborn you'd rather jump off a cliff than let a creature that dwelled in the night sink it's teeth into your tender flesh. But why weren't you dying yet? Was a question that rung through your head—passed the ringing you felt in your ears. The mountain had to be at least five stories tall—you could still feel the way you did when your feet left the mount—scared, almost free and that's what scared you. You hadn't felt such serenity in a long time, at least you enjoyed it while you could as you embraced death.
Gasping your eyes grew wide, tears welling in the corner when you realized you wouldn't die like this, the snow had protected you, the snow was your savior.
Curse the snow.
Flexing manicured nails you reached up from the trench your fall created. Looking around, your (curly/wavy) locks blew softly in the faint snow. "I survived." The statement brought a look of realization across your face. At any moment the demon who had its sights set on you would find you, and like a predator it would devour its prey.
You.
Rough hands dug their way from the crater you lied in, legs pushing past the snow and digging into the dirt of the soil as you desperately attempted to crawl up. Gritting pretty pearls you growled lightly, foot near your head in an awkward angle you lunged forward taking off into a sprint just as the beast landed in the same spot you were in moment ago. A second later you surely would have died.
Crying, a trail of snot spewed down your nose—(short/long) legs kicking up snow as you ran. The demon right behind you taking long strides on hands and feet, you questioned how such a beast could exist—what kind of god would allow this to walk along their earth? To prey upon their creations—
Face morphing into one of disgust you couldn't help the fat tears that rolled down your eyes, the ugly sounds that escaped your mouth nor could you help the nasal mucus from running down your round nose. You were scared, it was written all over your face, scared the creature would catch up to you and devour you like it promised. Scared you'll never see the light of day again, scared you would die in a forest and no one noticing you were gone. The feeling made your weak and cold legs carry you harder through the forest—no sense of direction, you used the frozen finger tips of your hands to push passed branches, leap over logs (to which the demon rammed head first into splitting it in half) and pick yourself up if you fell.
"GOD SOMEBODY HELP—SOMEBODY HELP ME!!" You screeched as the monster laughed wildly behind you,
"No one can help you brat!" It taunted, "You might as well give up now and allow me to devour you whole!!" A tongue darted from its mouth whipping above your ducked head, missing you by a hair. It's muscle clashed with a tree causing it to snap and lean forward. With sharp thinking your threw yourself to the ground allowing yourself to slide underneath it just as it crashed to the ground—you didn't think twice before you were sprinting off once more.
The demon clawing at the limb where your head had been not too long ago. Scraping its long nails against the bark it scrambled over the fallen tree and continued it's hunt after you. A desperate cry escaping your shivering (thin/plump) lips you screamed as you felt nails rake against your back—the world falling down in front of you as your chin collided with the cold ground. "No..." cackling above you the demon spoke. "You really are a fast runner~ it's a good thing I caught up to you though, I love a meal who puts me up for a chase."
Whimpering at the pressure on your back you bit your bottom lip to prevent any wallows of pain as you dug your fingers into the snow. Searching, searching for anything to help you escape. Frantic fingers scraped along something long, a rusted texture to the touch—it was sharp at the end.
"Such a pretty back..." the beast drooled—heavy drops of saliva falling onto your exposed back. "Can't wait time sink my teeth into it~" Crying harder you felt the demon pierce it's fingers deeper against your back, nearly breaking the skin.
"You'll be the best meal yet!! A true and rare beauty—EERK!!" With a cry ripping through your throat you turned, it's nails scrapping against your back successfully drawing blood to whip your arm around to drill a rusty nail through its skull. A loud bellow escaped the demons mouth as you yanked the nail from its head and backed away watching as it held its head in pain. Thrashing around in the snow, it's blood burned against the cold sleet causing it to melt. "YOU BITCH!! YOUBITCHYOUBITCHYOUBITCH YOU BITCH!!!!!"
"Get up."
——So yeah, I'm remaking this story—I didn't like it—and honestly now that I take the time to think about it—I probably should've left it alone and just started a whole new story in general and left the last one up since so many people actually enjoyed it—so I'm sorry for that 😭—but I hope you enjoy this one though :3
