Darkness.
That's all you knew anymore, the way it engulfed everything around you. The dark always scared you as a child, once you got older you thought it was silly but now you realized just how really scary it was.
There is nothing.
It felt empty, cold even. You couldn't exactly explain it but it made you anxious. It felt like you were around it for years, maybe even decades. But alas, everything must come to an end, right?
Crickets.
It felt like years before you began hearing crickets chirping again, the sound was welcoming, it blocked out the ringing in your ears. You wanted to go back, wherever you were before, anywhere but here.
Flicker.
The crickets turned into little fireflies, swirling around you in a beautiful pattern thought they only lit up themselves.
Flicker.
It slowly got brighter and brighter over the course of months, maybe even years you weren't sure. We're you stuck here forever? Was this what happens when you die? You had so many unanswered questions day after day, the list went on.
Shining.
Oddly enough it reminded you of the moon, the was it caressed every surface, making the lakes sparkle so elegantly, but this was different. You still couldn't make out any shapes. You wanted to finally be free of the darkness, desperately.
Y/n.
A voice. It startled you. Surprised you even. You thought you were alone, never to be seen again. Who did the voice belong to? Where are they? Did you know them? It was obviously a male voice, that you knew. But who?
Please.
The voice pleaded, it took a while for you to hear it again. A few days maybe. Your mind wandered as you tried to think of who it belonged to, it was so familiar.
Wake up.
Two words this time? My, we're getting fancy aren't we? You chuckled to yourself mentally, ignoring the fact that the voice was louder.
You need to.
Now your stomach dropped from how close the voice was, are you in a coma maybe? You seriously thought you were dead.
Get. Up.
The voice got demanding, making you nervous. Did you want to wake up? You didn't know the answer to that. That's also when you noticed a slight tingly feeling, it was gentle but definitely noticeable. Is this waking up?
It's me.
Who is "me"? The questions went on and on, seemingly never answered. You grew tired rather quickly so you decided to block out the voice and just try to sleep.
You can't hide from me.
That one was different.
