[A/N: YES. ALSO, SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME.]
"Hmm, you must be the newbie, huh?"
My instructor said to me.
He is the one who will show me the ropes of this place.
I joined the EDF last day.
Right now, I'm being trained on how to handle a gun and shoot it.
"We're going over the basics. Start with dashing and dodging."
I roll over to the right, then to the left.
I crouch a little and start to run faster like a tiger.
"Good, good. Now we're going to get you a weapon. Come with me."
After a few meters of walking, we heard somebody scream.
"Ah! There are monsters here!"
But my instructor ignored that and told me that soldiers like to make jokes.
"Don't worry, some soldiers like to make jokes."
The light flickers a little, then comes back online.
"Weird. Must be a short circuit. Anyway, I'm going to open this blast door."
BEEP! BEEP! BRRRRM!
"What the..."
We saw some M1 Abrams driving in the vehicle zone, then the next is some mech walkers.
"Be careful! Try not to walk over the vehicle zone, they're for the tanks and mechs!"
We ran around zone and head to the weapon's area.
"George was eaten!"
I'm going to ignore that.
After a few minutes, we're already at the blast door that leads to the weapon's area.
"Okay, I'm going to open this blast door now."
As soon as the blast door is open, a giant ant grab my instructor's head.
"Let go, you damn bug!"
He tries to escape from the mandible while I standing there watching the scene unfold.
Later, my instructor is dead, then the giant looks at me.
"Ah shit."
The giant ant was about to bite my head off when some other EDF soldiers shoots the bug and his brethren.
All of the giant ants are now dead.
"What the hell is happening here?!"
"Sir, I can't contact the ground force!"
Then they noticed me.
"You must be the newbie, right?"
I nodded.
"Good. We need you to get some weapons."
