"Liiaaa," Cassie sings at me as I put my thinning hair up, preparing to go to work. "Stay home with me, it gets so lonely."

She helps me put my loose strands into my bun, and put my thin arms into my black suit jacket over my long black plain dress.

"Please," She begged, as I grabbed an apple and sliced a quarter from it.

As much as I know that this quarter apple will prevent my progress, I must eat before I drive anywhere. I can't risk getting into another car accident like the one when I was 17, and being carried away to some institution where they'll fatten me up like a turkey before Thanksgiving.

"I must go," I tell her.

"You better come back soon!" she screams at me as she pushes over a chair in a fit of rage and she exits the kitchen.

She's uncontrollable at times, but that has always been Cassie.
